The Psych 2: Lassie Come Home preview has been released! Shawn and Gus have left Psychphrancisco and are back in Santa Barbara to help a friend. Turns out, Lassie is “seeing things,” but they are “probably not ghosts.” What are they?
We will have to watch the movie to solve that. But, we can already see from the preview that Shawn and Gus are still over the top crazy. From fur coats to fake mustaches and new nicknames for Gus, this promises to be a fun ride. Who is coming back and which fabulous stars are coming back?

Who Is Guest Starring In Second Movie?
Before we talk guest stars, how about we talk about who from the original cast is returning? The dynamic duo, James Roday and Dulé Hill are back as Shawn Spencer and Burton “Gus” Guster. As the title suggests, there will be plenty of Carlton Lassiter in Psych 2: Lassie Come Home. Timothy Omundson, who suffered a stroke right before the first Psych movie filming, is the focal point of this second movie. In that movie, he was a mere cameo. This time, he is the focus of the entire movie and the reason that Shawn and Gus return to Santa Barbara.
A Psych movie could never be without Juliet, and Maggie Lawson is back, as well as Corbin Bernsen as Henry Spenser, Shawn’s dad. Kirsten Miller and Sage Brocklebank are back as Karen Vick and Buzz McNab. Kurt Fuller is also back as Coroner Woody Strode.
Now for guest stars! According to IMBd, Jimmy Simpson is returning, presumably from the dead, as Mary Lightly. In addition, Richard Schiff is Dr. Hirsch, and Christopher Heyerdahl as Ova. Ova was in the very first Psych episode. Mysterious!
What is also mysterious are the roles of Sarah Chalke (How I Met Your Mother) as caretaker Delores and Allison Miller (A Million Little Things), in a mystery role.
When Is Peacock Premiering Second Psych Movie?
Psycho-Os, get Psyched! The new Peacock streaming channel premieres Psych: Lassie Come Home on Wednesday, July 15. This highly anticipated second movie was originally going to air on the USA Network before Christmas 2019. Who would have known that the world would need some respite during the summer of 2020. This timing is perfect. So, what do we know about the new movie?
First, this movie doesn’t continue on from the original movie. There is a time shift. It is set in the present day. Like now! Gus and Shawn need to go back to Santa Monica because Lassie was seriously injured and left for dead. Instead, he is rehabbing his serious injuries in a hospital. But, he is seeing things. In comes Shawn and Gus to solve this other-worldly mystery.
But, the two are not welcomed back to their hometown. In fact, the local police want nothing to do with them. Shawn and Gus are truly on their own, as they try to solve a rather Hitchcockian mystery.
Psych 2: Lassie Come Home drops on July 15 on Peacock.
