‘Below Deck Med’ Star Hannah Ferrier Addresses Off-Camera Drama With Captain Sandy
Below Deck Med star announced that Season 5 is her last. Captain Sandy Yawn fired back and said that Hannah says that at the end of every season. Now, Hannah is opening up about her difficult relationship with Sandy. She says that they have a “very difficult relationship that goes up and down a lot.”
The new season will show their complicated relationship. At the end of Season 4, Sandy told Hannah that yachting isn’t her passion. Hannah wanted to prove her wrong. She works hard with little reward. The two argue a lot in the upcoming season. Now, Hannah is opening up about what it’s really like to work with Sandy.

On the Bravo series, chief stew Hannah Ferrier and Captain Sandy Yawn often butt heads. That drama is for real. Hannah admits the drama they dealt with behind the scenes. In an exclusive interview with In Touch Weekly, the Below Deck Med star explained that they have a “very difficult relationship that goes up and down a lot.”
In the Season 5 trailer, Sandy tells Hannah that she could have fired her “a long time ago.” She gave Hannah many chances. This comment rubbed Hannah the wrong way since she’s been a part of the Below Deck Mediterranean series since its 2016 premiere. Hannah addressed her difficult relationship with Sandy. She also revealed that the social media remarks about her work ethic got her down.

“It does get a bit like that sometimes,” the Bravo star said. “And one day she kind of loves me, the next day she hates me. I think there comes a stage where I think even … I’ve seen the comments on social media that it’s just like, either just work with her or don’t work with her. It’s almost like cruel me going back season after season to listen to how bad I am and how she would fire me and all this stuff.”
Reality star doesn’t like how Captain Sandy treats her
The Below Deck Med star doesn’t like how Sandy has treated her on the show. Hannah feels that the captain should tell her not to come back if she feels that way.
“Because if really can’t work with me to that level, then … it just gets to the stage when where it’s a little bit like I’m such a strong person, but it does get to a little bit to the stage where you just feel a little bit bullied,” the television personality explained.
But she promises that this season will be “very different.” It’s going to have a “high stressing vibe kind of drama” that was lacking in Season 4.
Did Captain Sandy fire Hannah Ferrier from Below Deck Med?
This will be the end of Hannah Ferrier’s time on Below Deck Med. She told In Touch that she’s looking forward to her future. She expressed an interest in settling down and starting a family with her Australian boyfriend. Hannah made the announcement to Entertainment Tonight that she left on her own accord.

While Hannah said she’s done with yachting, rumors swirled she got the pink slip. Page Six reported that she actually got fired. The insider told the outlet that “Hannah’s crossed the line before” and “eventually went too far.” She’s been known for mixing business with pleasure and slacking off on the job.
If Hannah leaves Below Deck Mediterranean, she will be the second chief stew to leave after Kate Chastain’s exit from the Below Deck franchise.
