‘Teen Mom’ Star Amber Portwood Responds To COVID-19
Teen Mom OG star Amber Portwood wanted to help the community during COVID-19. She’s donating masks to a local hospital and following government social distancing orders. In an interview with People, she notes, “I just wanted to do my part any way that I could.”
Portwood donates masks
When Portwood decided to look for ways to help, she first turned to a local hospital in Indiana, where she grew up. She called the hospital and asked what their biggest need was. Upon being told that the hospital needed masks, Portwood donated 1,000 N95 masks to Richmond State Hospital.
Portwood reports that she doesn’t want to make a big deal about her donation and that she is happy to help. She says, “It’s just a nice gesture. It was something that was needed. I grew up an hour away from Richmond State Hospital. I just really want to help in any way that I can.” The Teen Mom star also mentions wanting to create a page on GoFundMe to raise funds for supplies to donate. She says that she isn’t able to donate a lot of money herself but still wants to help. She’s considering more ways to help out during the pandemic as well.

Portwood enjoys spending time at home, so she says that social distancing is not uncomfortable for her. “I’m an introvert. I’ve also been on TV for such a long time that this is something that the majority of us have done for a while,” she explains. She’s currently staying at home with her two children, Leah and James. 11-year-old Leah now completes schoolwork electronically. In the interview with People, Portwood notes that her family is doing well. She spends her free time reading non-fiction books and journaling. She notes that she likes to write poetry as a way to escape her thoughts.

COVID-19’s impact on Portwood’s love life
Teen Mom OG‘s Portwood recently started talking to Dmitri, who she met on an online dating site. He lives in Belgium, so the two have been communicating from their homes. She plans to physically meet him once it is safe to travel between countries. Dmitri had planned to visit the United States but changed his plans because of the coronavirus.
Portwood describes Dmitri as chill, nice, and handsome. She mentions having chemistry with him and is excited to share her life with him. Portwood is open with Dmitri and tells him that her children come first in her life. She states, “Everyone in my life right now understands what’s numero uno and that’s James, Leah, and if I want a happy relationship they have to understand that.”
