Hallmark’s ‘Love And Sunshine’: Bringing Back A Heartwarming Favorite

Hallmark Ally’s grown fond of Sunshine, the retired service dog she’s been fostering, and now Jake is back from Afghanistan, eager to reunite with his beloved Golden Retriever. Taking Sunshine on a walk, Ally tells Jake how the dog comforted her during a breakup, and Jake reveals how Sunshine got him through a Dear John letter. But their exes want them back and misunderstandings ensue until a Fourth of July party where Ally and Jake wind up kissing under a sky lit by fireworks. Everyone needs some Love And Sunshine. This Hallmark romance stars Danica McKellar (A Crown For Christmas) and Mark Deklin (Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa) in the story of a special dog who brings two unlikely people together. What do we know about this romance?

What Is Love And Sunshine About?

According to Hallmark, Love and Sunshine is the story about Ally (McKellar), a nursery owner. She not only has a green thumb, but she has a soft spot for animals. In fact, she is foster mom to Sunshine for the past two years. While Ally has taken in this foster, it was Sunshine that helped mend Ally’s heart after her fiancé broke off their engagement. But this arrangement is only temporary, and heartbreak is imminent.

This adorable Golden Retriever is a retired service dog. Her owner, Jake (Deklin) is the rightful. Jake, who joined the military after 9/11, is now returning from Afghanistan. He is understandably ready to reunite with his loyal pup. When he comes to pick up Sunshine, Jake meets Ally.

It is obvious that Ally loves Sunshine. Sensitive Jake suggests the trio go for a walk. During that walk, Ally shares her broken engagement story. Jake explains how Sunshine helped him through his own Dear John letter. Pretty soon, these walks and visits become regular events.

Just as the the couple’s friendship and attachment grows, their exes come back into the picture. Can Sunshine bring these two together?

When Can You Watch Love And Sunshine?

Hallmark’s Love And Sunshine  debuts on Saturday, May 2 at 9 p.m. Eastern time on the Hallmark Channel. Encore showings include Monday, May 25 at 8 p.m., Monday, June 15 at 12 p.m., and Tuesday, June 23 at 6 p.m., all times Eastern.
