‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Star Teddi Mellencamp Using Instagram To Name Baby
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp can’t decide on a baby name, so she’s utilizing Instagram to have her fans help narrow it down.
It’s common for people to ask friends for baby name suggestions, but Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave is taking it one step further by asking her Instagram followers!
The star, who joined the Bravo series in Season 8, posted on Instagram this weekend saying that she and husband Edwin Arroyave had narrowed it down to four names for their unborn daughter—Presley, Shea, Selena and Dove.
But they can’t agree on one, so Teddi is polling social media to help decide.
“Sound off with your fave [name] and why,” she wrote, adding, “We are a house divided.”

At first glance, it might sound strange to ask Instagram followers to help name your baby. But it’s not much different from asking friends or family for their opinions—the only difference is Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave doesn’t know all of the 791,000 people she’s reaching out to!
And it’s not as if she’s actually naming her baby via social media. The couple have already picked out names that they like; they just want to see what other people think, too. Even if Instagram likes one name, they could ultimately end up choosing another, or coming up with a fifth option.
It’s actually kind of an ingenious way to help settle the confusion, because as of Saturday afternoon, Teddi’s post had over 7,000 responses already! That’s a ton of feedback.
Social media success
The baby name poll is also an extension of Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave’s already successful social media brand. You might be surprised to know Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is the fourth thing she lists on her Instagram profile!
Her podcast, her certification as a nutrition/wellness coach and trainer, and her company ALL IN by Teddi all get higher billing. Reality TV is just one part of what she does.
She announced her pregnancy in September. This will be the couple’s third child; they’re also parents to 7-year-old daughter Slate and 5-year-old son Cruz. Edwin also has an 11-year-old daughter Isabella from a past relationship.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 10 is expected to premiere in March 2020. We’ll have to see if the baby naming story, and the new baby, make it onto the show. Until then, fans looking for some RHOBH news can find it in our category at TV Shows Ace. There’s already one rumored feud going on.
