January Will See The Return Of ‘My 600-lb Life,’ ‘Dr. Pimple Popper,’ And More
January is kicking off with some of the best TLC shows. My 600-lb Life will start the year off just right, with Dr. Pimple Popper, Sister Wives, and more following. Make sure you get all the dates on your calendar so you don’t miss a beat.
It Starts with My 600-lb Life
The New Year will come in with a bang. This is the time of year many will make resolutions, and one of those tends to be to lose weight. It’s not surprising that TLC will capitalize on that with the return of My 600-lb Life. Season 8 premieres on New Year’s Day, so skip the Doctor Who return and tune into this series that is full of extreme weight loss, emotional stories, and people you want to see achieve greatness.
Jan. 2 will then see all-new episodes of Dr. Pimple Popper. You’ve likely spent the last few months watching the YouTube videos. What is it about these pimples, cysts, and more that are so fascinating to watch? There’s much more to just getting the gunk out, though. Dr. Sandra Lee treats a variety of conditions, and some this season will be life-threatening, according to Cheat Sheet.
Other shows returning are Sister Wives (on Jan. 5), My Big Fat Fabulous Life (Jan. 7), and I Am Jazz (Jan. 28). This is shaping up to be one of the best months yet for TLC programming when it comes to inspirational and emotional storylines.
What About the New Shows?
It’s not all about returning shows like My 600-lb Life. TLC knows that you want something new and exciting. That’s why there is a bunch of great new programs making their way throughout January.
While you’re watching Dr. Sandra Lee deal with the pimples and cysts, you can get ready for a new show focused on feet. My Feet Are Killing Me sees Dr. Brad Schaeffer and Dr. Ebonie Vincent take in patients with unusual foot problems and find a way to help them walk better again. Nobody should have to live with bunions and painful toes!
For those who prefer the weight loss storylines, then there’s a new show on its way. Straight off the back of My 600-lb Life Season 8, new series 1,000-lb Sisters will premiere. This series follows Amy and Tammy Slaton, who combined weigh 1,000lbs. They want to change their lives and lose enough weight for bariatric surgery, and we’ll follow them through a six-episode season.
This is also the season for engagements, so it’s not surprising that TLC has brought a spin-off of Say Yes to the Dress in time for resolution and wedding planning season. Say Yes to the Dress America will follow a bride from every state travel to New York to choose their epic wedding dress. It premieres on Jan. 4.
