Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas continues with Holiday Date, a holiday story about a couple, that really isn’t a couple, that needs to incorporate her Christmas celebration with his Hanukkah traditions. How one couple found love learning about each other’s family traditions. Starring Hallmark favorite Brittany Bristow and General Hospital star Matt Cohen.

What Is Holiday Date About?

Poor Brooke (Bristow)! Her boyfriend dumps her right before the holidays. She doesn’t want to go home to Whispering Pines without a guy on her side. Worse yet, she has promised her family that this boyfriend is “Mr. Christmas.” She just cannot face her family without her promised date. But soon, a solution presents herself.

According to the Hallmark preview, she and her girlfriends meet some guy friends at a bar. There, she is introduced to Joel (Cohen), who happens to be an actor. He is very cute and he is currently looking for work. One of Brooke’s friends has a brilliant idea. She thinks that Joel should put those acting skills to good use and pretend to be this Christmas-loving boyfriend that Brooke has been bragging about. But when Brooke discovers Joel is Jewish, she doesn’t think that he can pull this off and fool her family.

Nonetheless, the couple visit her family in Whispering Pines. They eventually do discover that Joel is indeed Jewish, but they want him to celebrate his traditions alongside their Christmas traditions. As Brooke and Joel learn more about each other’s traditions, and tell personal stories, they become closer. Of course, eventually, everyone finds out that Joel is an actor and that Brooke tried to fool them. But, are Joel and Brooke really acting? Family members think that there is something real here. Can this new couple find a way to share their true feelings and find their happily ever after?
