During this appearance, she dropped a major bombshell and said, “In the beginning of the next episode, it’s a little bit of a cliffhanger, but all of the women go to visit Perry’s grave and his body’s missing.”

This spoiler came as a shock to fans of the show. Many began looking forward to seeing how this unfolds. Some were skeptical about it from the start though. They didn’t think it was likely.

Some observant fans made the connection between Big Little Lies and True Blood. Perry Wright’s character is played by Alexander Skarsgård. Skarsgård starred in True Blood, where he played a vampire. Because of this connection, it would make sense for Perry’s grave to be empty.

It turns out that some of the Big Little Lies fans were right about the spoiler being fake. It seems like this was a stunt by HBO in order to get more people talking about the finale. Based on how quickly the news spread on the Internet, it sounds like the strategy worked. This also could have just been Woodley joking with her fans.

In the comments of Woodley’s post, fans of the show are freaking out about the reveal. One fan wrote, “OMG YOU DIDN’T”. Another added, “[insert here renata cursing]”.

Then, someone wrote, “HOW DOES ONE PLAY WITH THE EXCITEMENT OF THE WHOLE WORD: A Guide by Shailene Woodley”. Someone else said, “Oh that was cruel but so damn good”.
