Duggar: John, Abbie Celebrate Engagement Anniversary
On Tuesday, Counting On stars John David and Abbie Duggar shared a post on their joint Instagram account. They are celebrating their first engagement anniversary.
In the post, they included five photos from their engagement last year. In the comments, fans are sharing how much they love looking back at those sweet pictures. This was an exciting time for John and Abbie. Fans will remember that the engagement was a great surprise for Abbie. John went above and beyond to make it a special engagement.
In the caption, John and Abbie wrote, “1 year ago today, we got engaged!!! Living in love together only gets sweeter with each passing day!” John and Abbie tied the knot on November 3, 2018.

In the comments of their post, fans shared sweet comments. They congratulated the couple and wished them a happy anniversary. John’s sister-in-law, Anna Duggar, commented, “Y’all are adorable! Happy engagement anniversary!”
John and Abbie Duggar’s Instagram silence
Prior to this post, John and Abbie had not shared a picture on Instagram in over two months. It’s not uncommon for people to take social media breaks. Fans were surprised that the couple didn’t post for two months though.
Before the social media break, they shared a few posts here and there. They joined a new church, celebrated six months of marriage, and shared about a trip to Oklahoma. They didn’t seem to be using social media as often as some users do, but they shared some parts of their lives with their supportive followers.

Fans speculated that Abbie may be expecting because of the break and because of a caption that Jessa Seewald wrote. When Grandma Mary Duggar suddenly passed away, Jessa wrote, “She was so excited about the many new great-grandbabies due this coming fall and winter, and it never got old for her.”
This caption confused fans. All of the pregnant Duggar women are due in November, which is the fall and not the winter. No news has been announced about a winter Duggar baby though.
It’s not obvious why exactly John and Abbie took a break from social media. It’s possible they were just enjoying married life together or wanted to spend less time on Instagram. Fans are hopeful that the couple is back on social media to stay though. John and Abbie are hands-down one of the favorite couples of Duggar fans.
