‘Young and the Restless’ News: Nikki and Victor’s Love is Put to the Test

Young and the Restless

Victor’s savior complex might have reached maximum capacity months ago. His bedside vigil once again saved Nikki from the brink of death around Christmas.  She and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) had thought they shamed Sharon (Sharon Case) into keeping quiet. More importantly not bringing the damning evidence showing JT (Thad Luckbill) killed by fire poker.  If they had brought forth a confession instead of hiding a body and intimidating witnesses Nikki could have walked scot-free, with a claim of self-defense but it’s too late. Sharon has already brought the evidence, an audio file, and some melodrama forward to Rey (Jordi Vilasuso).

A Potential to Exit

There have been many rumblings regarding the departure of the actress, Melody Thomas Scott and her castmate Eric Braeden from the series and a confession of murder would seem to create the perfect plot opening for such a departure. Braeden’s camp appears to deny this possibility, but there is no comment from Scott, increasing the plausibility of her character taking the fall for the entire crime. The Young and the Restless sure is getting interesting.

Nikki holds all the cards. It seems she has no choice but to come forward with her confession. In the February 7, episode of The Young and the Restless she is not tolerating the pressure well, and it looks as though she snaps and tells all on the February 8 episode. How Nikki chooses to make her confession will be the deciding factor in her family’s fate. What will this mean for the famous Newman clan? While they have seen worse, it seems impossible to escape without some damage, especially with an increasingly unstable Nikki.

Watch The Young and the Restless weekdays on CBS.
