‘Bachelor’ Nick Viall Confronts Reality Steve, Accuses False Reporting
It’s an interview Bachelor fans never saw coming, but it is 2020 so anything is possible. Spoiler guru Reality Steve appeared on Nick Viall’s podcast this week. This was finally Nick’s time to confront Steve about all the spoilers and posts he has made about him. And, Steve dishes on exactly how he came to be the spoiler expert.
Nick talks to Steve about how his blog came to be
Many may not know how Reality Steve got his start in spoiling The Bachelor. He explained to Nick on Tuesday’s episode of Viall Files that it didn’t actually start with The Bachelor. Steve started doing recaps on Joe Millionaire.
After Joe Millionaire wrapped up, Steve moved on to The Bachelorette. He started in 2003 with Trista Sutter’s season. However, it wasn’t until Jason Mesnick’s season in 2009 that his website took off. And, in fact, Steve didn’t go out of his way searching for spoilers in the beginning. He began receiving tips and emails from people and cast members.
Reality Steve became a big spoiler sensation when one of his sources emailed him Jason’s incredible and shocking ending. Steve admits his servers crashed the night he reported it. And, while he is almost always right on target, there have been a few seasons when information has been nonexistent or inaccurate. One in particular was Desiree’s season. He predicted the runner-up as the final rose recipient. Most recently, Steve had a tough time getting inside information on Peter Weber’s season. He didn’t have the ending until almost air time. He also admits to having nothing on Jillian Harris’ season of The Bachelorette.

Steve was confronted by Viall about personal attacks
Nick actually called Reality Steve out over a story that was inaccurately reported. No names were given, but Steve knew who he was talking about. And, while the information was false about Nick, Steve had already made the situation right by deleting and apologizing. According to Nick, a mutual friend contacted Steve and told him the original source was not credible. A year later Steve deleted the blog. Nick also says the apology was only half sincere. Steve disagrees.
The most upsetting part for Nick was the big leak about his conversation on an airplane about Andi Dorfman. Nick obviously wasn’t aware someone was recording that conversation to send to Steve. That was one situation Steve really lucked out on.

Nick said it truly impacted him personally. He was even terrified ABC could sue him over the leak. He ultimately asked Steve why he doesn’t like him. Steve told him there was just something about him that lit his fire. Therefore, whenever Steve was presented with anything negative on Nick, he ran with it. He went more for negative stories on Nick than positive ones.
Nick told Steve that The Bachelor in some ways has impacted his life negatively. And, he said Steve had impacted his life in negative ways also. However, Nick said Steve has definitely caused more personal stress for him than the show.
The podcast shared interesting information and gave the world a little insight into how Reality Steve feels and came to be. It also gave insight into how his spoilers and other information has affected some of the cast members.
