Sherri Shepherd Reveals Crying Over Big Paycheck Loss
It has been a successful three decades for Sherri Shepherd. Not only was she a staple on The View, but she has also stayed consistently busy in the acting world. She was featured on Everybody Loves Raymond, The Jamie Foxx Show, Beauty Shop, and more. Since 2022, she has helmed her own talk show, Sherri, and it has been quite successful. The Daytime Emmy winner has had notable guests from all genres, most recently the iconic Patti LaBelle. Despite all of her incredible success, there was one time when she lost a massive paycheck, and it brought her to tears.
In 2012, Sherri appeared on Dancing With the Stars alongside pro Val Chmerkovskiy. It was Season 14, and Sherri seemed happy to be a part of the hit dancing reality series. Unfortunately, she was canned after week three. She deserves praise for even trying and making it past week one but sadly, Sherri was brokenhearted. After she was sent packing, she realized how much money she was losing out on. The mother of two detailed her exit during the Thursday, April 3rd episode of her talk show.

Apparently, when Sherri Shepherd learned that her time was up, she could not stop crying. However, it was not because she would not dance another week but rather she had money on the brain:
“People thought I was crying because I didn’t execute my paso doble correctly. But I literally was crying because I was calculating my bills.”
Sherri had big plans for the prize money as she was going to pay for her son’s tuition and her mortgage:
“I’ve gotta take that car back because I thought I was gonna get the Mirror Ball [winner’s trophy]. I need money!”
Stay As Long As You Can
For Dancing With the Stars and other reality competition shows, the longer the contestants stay, the higher their paycheck is. Therefore, with just three weeks under her belt, Sherri Shepherd would not be raking in the dough. Despite losing a lot of money and having some of her dreams crushed, Sherri is immensely grateful for her time as a dancer. Since she loves dancing, this was an incredible experience in her career. She did get a second chance to show off her dancing chops when she appeared on The Masked Singer. Not only did she get to dance, but she sang and made big bucks:
“Number one, you get to sing. Two, you get to dance and you do it in costume [and] they pay you some really good money!”
