Jessa Seewald Answers Duggar Fan’s Question About TV Shows
Jessa Seewald and other members of the Duggar family cut their kids’ hair at home. Part of this is due to social-distancing amid the coronavirus. But, Jessa does it regularly too. She’s even filmed videos of herself cutting her sons’ hair and her husband’s hair. In the videos, she walks viewers through how she cuts their hair so they can try it at home. She has those videos on her YouTube channel.
As TV Shows Ace reports, both Jessa and Joy-Anna Forsyth showed off their sons’ new haircuts on Thursday. While social-distancing, the boys’ hair got a bit long. Jessa took this time to promote her YouTube videos. She also encouraged parents to cut their kids’ hair at home and gave some words of wisdom.
In the comments section, one fan asked Jessa about getting the kids to sit still during the haircut. Jessa revealed that she lets her kids watch Peppa Pig and eat snacks during their haircuts.

One fan wonders how Jessa’s family watches shows
Since Jessa revealed that her kids watch Peppa Pig, fans were quick to wonder if she and Ben have a TV. Fans haven’t seen a TV in Jessa’s home or in many of the other adult kids’ homes. So, fans were somewhat surprised to hear the the kids watch a show. One Duggar fan commented and asked, “Was the peppa pig on a laptop or tv? 🧐” It looks like the fan is suspicious of Jessa and is wondering if Jessa lives like her parents do. Of course, Jessa is an adult and can make her own decisions.
But, as it turns out, Jessa says, “My phone. 😁” So, it doesn’t seem like Jessa and Ben have a TV yet. And, it’s unclear whether they’ll get one.
Why doesn’t the Duggar family watch TV?
A while back, Jim Bob Duggar opened up about why his family doesn’t watch TV. He said, “I grew up watching TV, but when we got married a doctor friend of ours encouraged us not to have a pet or a TV the first year of marriage. So we did that. For the first year we lived on love. And after that someone gave us a TV and for the first three weeks we were both glued to it. Communications dropped off, we weren’t talking as much, and we couldn’t believe the content on TV we didn’t think was appropriate. This is detrimental to our marriage. We prayed about it and felt we had to pull it out of our house, which we did. And I would say that is one of the best things we have done for our family.”
It’s possible that some of the kids will make their own decisions about watching TV. But, it seems like all of them, except for Jinger Vuolo, are living life TV-free.
