Derrick Levasseur Opens Up About His Role

Derrick was the winner of Big Brother 16 and has now been cast as a member of The Traitors Season 3. Despite his experience in the game of deception on Big Brother, Levasseur talks about how he has no interest in taking on the role of Traitor on The Traitors. Derrick entered the game trying to be a Faithful. A player tasked with identifying and eliminating the Traitors within the group.

In a recent conversation with some fans, Derrick explained that from the beginning he told the producers of the show that he had no desire to be a Traitor. When a fan asked if he had always wanted to play as a Faithful he replied with “100%”. His decision to choose Faithful came from his professional and personal values, particularly his involvement in victim advocacy. He relates to faithfulness and integrity because his profession is to work closely with families who have experienced trauma. He knows the families that he works with might be watching the show and wants to be able to say he played it with integrity and maintaining honesty.

The Easy Choice Isn’t So Easy

While Derrick knows that choosing to be a Traitor is easier than fighting for a spot as a Faithful, he expressed that he was drawn to The Traitors for the challenge. He certainly got more than he bargained for. As a Faithful, Derrick was part of a group that had to work together to identify the Traitors without knowing who they were. Levasseur seemed eager to take on the position that tests truth and strategy. At the beginning of the show, Derrick remains safe from elimination, but as the game progresses it becomes more difficult for Derrick to stay safe. A new episode premiers each week on Peacock and fans are excited to watch Levasseur make it through the game and see if his determination to be honest and have integrity will play in his favor.

Derrick has used his following and social media platform to raise awareness for many causes. After the premiere of the show, he went onto his social media to thank fans for their support. He also took the time to share the cause ” the Northeast Humane Society”. It Is an organization dedicated to animal rescue.
