When you host a game show for as long as Pat Sajak hosted Wheel Of Fortune before finally deciding to pass the torch, it’s understandable that a lot of viewers still miss him at the helm. Generations of families watched the game show with Pat as the host, and he became a tradition in many households over the last few decades.
Many Wheel Of Fortune fans are thinking about Pat Sajak a little more than usual of late, because the popular game show recently celebrated its 50th anniversary on the air. As much as viewers are starting to begrudgingly accept Ryan Seacrest as the new host, many still miss Pat Sajak and everything he brought to the program for so many years.
Game Show Fans Want Pat Sajak To Do One More Thing
Even though the changing of the guard already happened at Wheel Of Fortune, many fans of the popular game show still want one more thing from Pat Sajak.
- One commenter recently said: “I was hoping…that Pat Sajak would do a retrospective special, maybe an hour of so, of his career on the show: the evolution of the game, quirky and weird things that happened during tapings (English is a very hard language to learn!) and of course, BLOOPERS! Yes, they’ve shown bloopers as bumpers going out to commercial, but I’d like an hour special …I suppose they’d have to get clearance (permission) from the contestants to show their puzzles again? JMHO.”
- Another commenter added: “Wheel’s the only show that’s never had a special like this. Jeopardy! had one shortly before Alex Trebek died, Price s Right had a two-hour special for its 50th, plus a tribute special for Bob Barker, and Family Feud had a 50th anniversary special even though their’s doesn’t happen until 2026! The interest in Wheel just isn’t there for some people.”
- A third commenter chimed in, adding: “They could easily produce it and release it only online if they’re concerned about ratings or some such concern. I think it would be special and appreciated by fans!”
Wheel Of Fortune Insider Hints That Pat Sajak Could Return As The Host
Recently, a Wheel Of Fortune insider dished that Pat Sajak felt a sense of renewed vigor after hosting the celebrity edition of the game, and that he would be open to returning as the host of the main game show two to three years down the line.
In the meantime, it’s clear that many fans would love it if the show did a retrospective special detailing Pat’s long and lucrative career.
