‘American Pickers’ Preparing To Hit Road To Film New Season
The American Pickers ratings are at an all-time low. However, despite this, Mike Wolfe and his team are headed out to start filming the next season of the HISTORY Channel show. While Wolfe has been working on some side projects, possibly preparing for life after his reality TV show, it isn’t ending anytime soon.
Here is what you need to know about the next season of American Pickers.
American Pickers Getting Ready To Start Filming New Season
Fans are watching the current American Pickers season, although the viewership numbers are at an all-time low. Despite the low ratings, the HISTORY Channel seems to be holding out hope that things will improve for the reality TV show. The network signed Mike to a multi-season contract renewal last year.
This current season is the first on Mike’s new deal, where he travels with his brother, Robbie Wolfe, and Danielle Colby to discover antiques across the heartland of America. The show began to decline in ratings, though, when the network fired Frank Fritz, and fans blamed Mike for not protecting his friend’s job.
Despite this, Mike has soldiered on and is preparing to head out to start filming the next season. According to reports, Mike and the team will hit the road in February to start the next season’s filming schedule. They look to be starting out in South Carolina (via The Express).
They will apparently be setting off across the region and said, “We’re always excited to find historically significant or rare items.” The HISTORY Channel also admitted that the show will continue to tell people’s stories behind these items as well. There is also some information about how people in South Carolina can be noticed, with anyone who owns antiques encouraged to send a message to [email protected] or to call (545) 493-2184.
What Is Mike Wolfe Doing Other Than American Pickers?
Mike Wolfe has been keeping busy since he finished filming the current season of American Pickers. He has been buying property in Columbia, Tennessee. The reality TV star has a home there. He also purchased some businesses he is renovating with the hopes of helping the town’s economy. Of course, not everyone in the sleepy town seems happy about it.
He has also been keeping busy with his two antiques stores, one in Iowa and the other in Tennessee. Mike has recently stocked the Nashville store with thousands of dollars of antiques for sale. He likely hopes to ensure he is set when and if American Pickers ends up canceled.
