Actress Brooke Shields recently opened up about how she was violated by a surgeon, according to her latest claims. So, what happened with this situation, and what did she have to say about it?
Brooke Shields Has Been In The Public Eye For Decades
Brooke Shields is one of those rare celebrities in Hollywood who got their start early. While there are many dangers when it comes to being a child actor in Hollywood, Shields certainly did not come out of things unscathed. She may have been able to launch her career at an early age, but, she also paid a price for that fame.
Brooke Shields had highly controversial roles at a young age in films like Pretty Baby and Blue Lagoon. All these years later, she is still getting work, and she has managed to make her career last for decades. This is an achievement in and of itself, especially in an industry known for elevating people to stardom, only to watch them plummet not too long after.
Shields Says She Was Violated By Surgeon
According to Shields, she was “dumbfounded” after a surgeon performed a vaginal rejuvenation procedure on her without her consent. Shields went in for a procedure to reduce the length of her labia. However, her surgeon later boasted that she got an extra procedure out of the deal, a Vaginoplasty.
This procedure tightens the vagina, and it is a procedure that is irreversible. In this case, it’s also something that Brooke Shields never asked for, which, naturally, was a violation. Essentially, she went in for one thing and came out with an extra procedure that she did not want.
Brooke Shields Speaks Out After Surgeon Went Off Script
Brooke Shields recently broke her silence about this violation, and she had a lot to say about it. Shields said: “It felt like such an invasion — such a bizarre, like, rape of some kind.” Shields went on to add: “Nothing pointed toward this need to be tighter or smaller or firmer or younger, especially there.”
Shields spoke to Us Weekly about this experience ahead of the release of her brand-new book, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman.

The book will officially drop on January 14. So, that’s something to look forward to for any of her longtime fans.
