Lori Loughlin Makes TV Return In ‘On Call’ Sneak Peek
There is a new TV show coming to Prime Video in January and it has a familiar face and a brilliant creator behind the series. On Call sees former When Calls the Heart star Lori Loughlin make her return to television. It is also a show from Law & Order and Chicago One creator Dick Wolf.
Here is a look at the new upcoming series as well as the first trailer for the Prime Video show.
On Call Brings Lori Loughlin Back To Television
Most fans know Lori Loughlin from her roles as Aunt Becky on Full House and Abigail Stanton in When Calls the Heart. She also was a major actress in Hallmark movies for years. However, her career hit a roadblock when she was convicted in the College Admissions Scandal and had to spend time in prison.
Since getting out of jail, she got a chance to appear in movies again thanks to her former Full House co-star Candace Cameron-Bure and her control over the Great American Family network. Now, Loughlin is getting a chance to appear in a real TV series again with On Call.
Loughlin stars as Lieutenant Bishop, the person in charge of the police officers the series follows at the Long Beach Police Department. This is Lori’s first role in a TV police show, and she is a departure from her previous roles, as she is a “non-nonsense” lieutenant and even drops an F-bomb in the first look (via PEOPLE).
“I was game for anything. Like when I first showed up, they were like, your highlights are gonna go, and I was like, fine,” Lori said (via Entertainment Tonight). “No makeup, dark hair pulled back, uniform and just [a] very raw [look] and I jumped at the chance. I was so excited. I didn’t know I had it in me — to be that badass.”
On Call Trailer Hints At What Is To Come For Lori Loughlin Show
Lori Loughlin is part of the cast, but based on the first trailer, she is not the main star. Based on the trailer, Troin Bellisario is the main character, a veteran training officer named Traci Harmon. Fans might remember Bellisario from her role as Timothy McGee’s little sister Sarah in NCIS or her starring role as Spencer Hastings on Pretty Little Liars.
She joins Brandon Larracuente as her rookie partner, Alex Diaz. Larracuente previously starred in the Party of Five remake in 2020 and in a tragic role in 13 Reasons Why. Eriq La Salle (from ER) also has a major role alongside Lori Loughlin.
On Call premieres Thursday, January 9, on Prime Video.
