‘The View’ Goes On Break, When Will It Return With Live Shows?
The View is on a short hiatus. With the Christmas holiday here, many shows have gone on break. The main network shows started their mid-season breaks at the end of November and will return in January. The daytime talk shows went a little further into December, but now they are also on a holiday break so the hosts can spend time with their families.
Here is when The View will return to the air with new episodes.
The View Return Date After Holidays
The women from The View have started their holiday breaks, and the show will be off the air, with no new episodes until the new year. The last episode of 2024 aired on Friday, December 20, and starting on December 23, there will be no new episodes until the start of 2025.
The show will start airing reruns for the next two weeks, so fans can still catch the show. However, these are older episodes, so the discussions are all about old news. Despite that, it is something to tide fans over until the women return to the studio. Some of the reruns will include recent interviews with a variety of stars, which should be nice, especially for fans who missed specific episodes.
The View will return with new episodes starting on January 6, 2025.
The show’s last episode was an interview with actress Jamie Lee Curtis and a performance from Jordin Sparks (American Idol). Last week, there were also appearances by Billy Eichner (Mufasa), Nikki Glaser (talking about her upcoming Golden Globes hosting gig), Kerry Washington, and Tyler Perry (both talking about The Six Triple Eight).
Whoopi Goldberg Spending Holidays On Broadway
While most of the women will head home with their families, Whoopi Goldberg will be heading back to Broadway. She is in the middle of a run as the villain role of Miss Hannigan in Annie, which is playing at Madison Square Garden.
Whoopi signed on for a limited run on Annie from December 11 through January 5. The other shows will have a different actress playing Miss Hannigan. For those unfamiliar, Miss Hannigan runs the orphanage Annie came from and is the story’s main villain. She tries to stop Annie from finding happiness with the wealthy Daddy Warbucks.
Carol Burnett played Miss Hannigan in the 1982 movie.
In Annie, Whoopi will sing one of the play’s most famous songs, “Little Girls.” She said, “It’s been interesting. I’m just trying to not emulate what everyone else has done and trying to find my place in all of it.”
