‘Yellowstone’ Danielle Vasinova Almost Dies In Medical Emergency
Danielle Vasinova stars in the Yellowstone spinoff series 1923 and the upcoming The Madison. She played Ata Waipa in 1923 and stars as Kestrel Harris in The Madison. This should help her expand on her already successful acting career, as she won a Daytime Emmy Award for her work on The Bay.
However, she almost didn’t make it this far. Danielle, 42, almost died and has shared the story as she prepares for the bigger role in the Yellowstone universe.
Yellowstone Star Talks Death Experience
The Yellowstone spinoff star didn’t almost die. According to the actress, she did die. She said that in December 2019, months before the world learned about COVID-19. she fell ill with what she thought was the flu. It was much worse and she said that she actually died during this time.
Danielle said she was misdiagnosed with strep throat at an urgent care center in Los Angeles. They sent her home with antibiotics, but her symptoms got worse overnight. She said she couldn’t walk and her legs wouldn’t move. “I felt like I was going to die,” she said (via PEOPLE).
Her uncle rushed her to the emergency room and she said he told her what happened as she recovered. “He said people were running around me, and a tiny girl jumped on top of my chest and began pumping, pumping, pumping. And then he saw my heartbeat on the monitor just go. Flatlined.” Danielle said her heart stopped beating for three minutes.
Danielle said an ER nurse took action and helped bring her back to life. Once stabilized, they placed her in a medically induced coma. The illness had caused her organs to completely shut down. She learned later this was due to Covid-19.
Danielle Vasinova On What This Meant For Her

She said it took weeks to recover physically and emotionally and it “rocked my world.” This has all led her to take control and she is now preparing to step back into Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone world for the series The Madison.
According to Danielle, she plays “an indigenous woman married to a Montana rancher who lives with her family on a double-wide trailer on Stacy’s ranch.” Michelle Pfeiffer leads the series as Stacy Clyburn.
