Snoop Dogg Says Gordon Ramsay Wants Him On ‘MasterChef’
Snoop Dogg just finished his first season on The Voice. While he didn’t win on that show, he has his eyes on another reality TV show. Snoop was discussing his love of MasterChef and his superior cooking skills. He then dropped the bombshell that Gordon Ramsay wanted him to be on that reality TV show.
Here is what Snoop said about wanting to join MasterChef.
Snoop Dogg Wants To Join MasterChef
Snoop Dogg recently discussed MasterChef. This discussion came as Gregg Wallace announced he was leaving the U.K. version of the reality cooking show. With Wallace leaving, Snoop Dogg said his friend Gordon Ramsay would support the move.
“You better believe Snoop could be the new MasterChef judge,” he said (via The Mirror). “My boy Gordon [Ramsay] judges on the U.S. version of the show, and I know he would back me to be able to judge on the U.K. version.”
Snoop Dogg then ensured that the interviewer knew he wasn’t joking. He said he is “not playing when it comes to food.” He said that Gordon knows he can cook. He even said he had given the celebrity chef some cooking tips before. He then reminded people that he co-hosts Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party.
Finally, Snoop said he has always wanted to work on a U.K.-based show. This is the perfect time for the rapper to throw his name into the discussion since Gregg Wallace, 60, has just left the series.
Why Is Gregg Wallace Leaving MasterChef UK?
Snoop Dogg mentioned this because Gregg Wallace has left the reality cooking competition series. This departure is because 13 different people have leveled accusations against Wallace for inappropriate s*xual comments he allegedly made between 2005 and 2022 (via BBC News).
Wallace defended himself in a way that made him look even worse. He said “a handful of middle-class women of a certain age” accused him of these actions. However, he pushed on and said, “20 years … do you know how many staff, all different sorts of staff, do you know how many staff complained about me in that time? Absolutely none. Zero. Seriously.”
Despite his rejection of the claims, Wallace is no longer part of MasterChef, and his career as a television host and judge has likely ended. Now, it sounds like Snoop Dogg wants to take his place.
Snoop Dogg has reality television experience. As mentioned, he just finished up on The Voice as a coach, where one of his singers finished in fifth place. In 2022, he co-hosted American Song Contest with Kelly Clarkson. Now, he wants to judge cooks.
