CBS viewers can expect a few changes to their network’s daytime programming for 2025. Fans can see their favorite daytime shows come and go, as well as finding new ones. The network’s lineup of soaps, which include The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, are especially expected to be impacted by upcoming changes.

Daytime Fans Are Losing A Talk Show & Gaining A Soap

The talk show, The Talk, is expected to air its final episode by December 24, 2024. The following Monday, its slot will be filled with encore episodes of The Price Is Right. By February 24, in the following year, a new soap, Beyond the Gates, is slated to take its place.

Starting by December 23, 2024, CBS will have a new daytime schedule. Starting off with the game shows, Let’s Make A Deal will air from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM ET.

For the PM market, Let’s Make A Deal will also air 3:00 PM ET to 4 PM ET. The morning broadcast will then be followed by new episodes of The Price Is Right. These will air from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM ET.

Afterwards, it will then be time for soaps. The Young and the Restless will air from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM ET. It will then be followed by The Bold and the Beautiful at 1:30 PM to 2 PM ET.

One Game Show Still Remains Supreme On The Daytime Schedule

Afterwards, encore presentations of The Price Is Right will air from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM ET. This will continue until Beyond the Gates takes its slot.

Beyond the Gates, a CBS Studios and NAACP Venture debut project, will notably be the first ever one-hour Black daytime soap. It will also mark the first daytime drama to premiere since the supernaturally-themed Passions debuted in 1999.

As noted by Soap Central, a recent press release said that CBS has seen audience growth across its daytime dramas and game shows in L+7 viewing. The publication noted that CBS’ top three daytime shows reach close around 3.83 million viewers.

The Price Is Right was in the top spot, followed by The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, respectively. The publication also noted that The Late Show With Stephen Colbert also maintained a #1 status with a 16% increase in viewers over the last year.

That said, schedules can always change. In fact, taking to the comments, writer Erin Goldsby even noted such a recent change. Giving a “heads up,” she wrote, “B&B was [recently] pre-empted on the East Coast for CBS Breaking News. The regularly scheduled episode will air in Central, Mountain, and West Coast time zones.”

Another commenter also noted, “In Kansas, & Oklahoma, we don’t get Bold & The Beautiful until 1 AM and sometimes it’s 1:30 AM due to football. Not fair.”

  1. Can’t wait to see the new soap Beyond the Gate. B&B seems to be running the same story line so I haven’t been watching it. But the Y&R always has something interesting to keep you hanging on I love it. Keep it going Y&R.

  2. There is no reason to take The Talk off. It is fun and light hearted and love this cast and hot topics tik talk etc. We need this show to continue bringing us laughter and decompress from everything.

    1. I watched cbs soaps since I was a teenager. I remember as the world turns edge of night and watching young restless and bold from the first broadcast. CBS had the best soaps. You can change whatever but please don’t remove young and bold.

  3. I love the talk and have so for many years. This show brings joy to the heart. Please keep it on for us.

  4. If CBS is looking into adding the new 3rd hour expansion of CBS Mornings (called CBS Mornings Plus) to the daytime schedule, I’d anticipate Let’s Make A Deal being on the chopping block as The Price Is Right is too popular, and I don’t anticipate The Young & The Restless and The Bold & The Beautiful going anywhere anytime soon. Should B&B’s days on CBS be numbered, I’d anticipate it moving over to Paramount+ exclusively, similar to how Days Of Our Lives made the leap from NBC to Peacock. I’d imagine CBS committing to keeping Beyond The Gates for a few seasons. I miss seeing As The World Turns and Guiding Light. I hear Capitol was another good soap CBS aired back in the day, which B&B replaced.

    1. I can not imagine why they have not cancelled the View. Use to be a good show when Walters was on. Downhill ever since.
