Beyoncé’s Mom, Tina Knowles, Reacts To Jay-Z Rape Allegations
A recently refiled civil suit has accused Sean “Diddy” Combs and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter of raping an underage girl. Since being named, Jay-Z has denied these allegations. Now, Carter’s mother-in-law, Tina Knowles, mother of pop star Beyoncé, has recently shared a reaction to the suit and the allegations against Carter.
A News Outlet Shared The Story With A Post On Instagram
The civil suit was originally filed back in October. However, Jay-Z wasn’t initially named, with the suit referring to him as an unnamed male celebrity until recently being amended. An unidentified female celebrity, who had allegedly watched the incident, was also similarly redacted.
ABC 7 Chicago recently shared news of the story on an Instagram post. As it read, “Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter and Sean “Diddy” Combs are accused of raping a then-13-year-old girl at an afterparty following the 2000 Video Music Awards, according to an amended civil lawsuit filed Sunday.”
However, as noted by Parade, Jay-Z’s mother-in-law, Tina Knowles, mother of singer Beyoncé, reportedly liked the Instagram post. The post contained a photo of Jay-Z with Diddy, reading, “Breaking News: Jay-Z, Diddy Named in Lawsuit Alleging Rape of Girl, 13.”
Born Celestine Ann Beyoncé, Tina Knowles is also known for her work as a businesswoman and fashion designer. She is particularly known for establishing the House of Deréon fashion brand.
Some Fans Noticed That Tina Knowles Liked The Post
As the publication noted, this took place shortly after the suit was refiled. It was also noted that Knowles’ “like” remained as of 1:30 PM ET.
On the post’s comment sections, many users pointed out that Tina had liked the post. As one fan wrote, “Not Ms Tina Knowles liking the post!”

For his part, Jay-Z has denied the allegations. As previously reported, the rapper took to X, formerly Twitter, to deny the claims in a statement through Roc Nation.
During his statement, Jay-Z also highlighted his family, his includes his wife, Beyoncé. As he shared in the statement: “My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of young people.”
The statement continued, “I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit.”
In 2002, Jay-Z first collaborated with Beyoncé on the song, “’03 Bonnie & Clyde,” following it up with another collaboration, “Crazy in Love.” Initially keeping a low profile regarding their personal lives together, the two wound up getting married in 2008.
