Jay-Z Breaks Silence About Claims Of Raping Child With Diddy
Rapper and record executive Jay-Z has recently been accused of raping a teenage girl in a civil lawsuit with mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. Since then, Jay-Z recently spoke out about these claims. In a statement, he also notably discussed his wife Beyoncé and their three children together.
A Civil Lawsuit Was Recently Amended To Include Jay-Z
Jay-Z, born Shawn Corey Carter, started his musical career in the 1980s. In the 2000s, he briefly served as the president of chief executive officer of Def Jam Recordings. He also founded the company Roc Nation. In his personal life, his is also known for his marriage to singer Beyoncé.
The lawsuit was originally filed back in October. Initially listing Combs as a defendant, it has since been amended to include Jay-Z.
As noted by People, in the amended lawsuit, a woman identified as “Jane Doe” claimed that she was assaulted after being driven to an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty. The incident is said to have taken place in 2000.
Jane Doe claimed that she was raped by Combs and Jay-Z. In addition, she also alleges an unidentified female celebrity watched. She is currently seeking unspecified damages.
According to the publication, Jane Doe’s attorney Tony Buzbee released the following statement: “The pleading speaks for itself. This is a very serious matter that will be litigated in court.”
Jay-Z has recently broken his silence about the allegations on social media. Taking to X, the statement was released through Roc Nation’s page. In the statement, Jay-Z also brought up his family.
Jay-Z Notably Discussed His Family In The Statement
Jay-Z started off the statement saying, “My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle.”
The rapper, however, claimed this had the “opposite effect.” As he shared, “It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”

Jay-Z denied the alleged incident happened, writing, “These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?” He continued that, “These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”
The rapper also notably discussed his family in the statement.”My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people.”
“I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit.”
Jay-Z also noted, “My heart and support goes out to true victims in the world, who have to watch how their life story is dressed in costume for profitability by this ambulance chaser in a cheap suit.”
