The wait is almost over for fans excitedly waiting for Pop Culture Jeopardy! to arrive. The new spinoff series will be solely focused on pop culture questions. It will also feature teams of three people competing against other teams. Finally, it features Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost as the host.

Here is when the new show will premiere, where you can watch it, and what to expect from the series.

Pop Culture Jeopardy! Release Date

Pop Culture Jeopardy! will not air on network television like its parent series. Instead, the series will air on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service. This means fans will have to subscribe to the service or be an Amazon Prime member to watch it. However, those who do will get to see it in just two weeks.

Since it is on a streaming service, the way it is released will also be different from the regular series. Instead of setting a premiere date and having shows on a daily (or even weekly) basis, the first three episodes will all drop at the same time on Wednesday, December 4 (via TV Insider). Since this is streaming, they should hit at midnight the night before.

The series will also not be small like many streaming shows. The first season of Pop Culture Jeopardy! will have an eye-popping 40 episodes. Three new episodes will be released on Wednesdays each week, so viewers can watch them at their own convenience during the week.

What Is Different About Pop Culture Jeopardy!?

The biggest change, of course, is that all the categories and questions will focus on pop culture topics. That means no obscure historical questions or anything about science or academic topics. This is about movies, TV shows, music, the Internet, and more.

There are some hardcore Jeopardy! fans who complain about the questions, believing that pop culture questions are not worthy. However, many of the best Jeopardy! champions often struggle with pop culture questions, and Ken Jennings said this will be as hard as the regular series.

According to the promos, the questions will range from alternative rock to The Avengers and Broadway productions to MMA, Gen Z, and Zendaya. There will be teams of three people rather than individual players, so the teams will likely be set up with experts in different areas of pop culture.

They will compete in a tournament-style game to win a $300,000 grand prize. Colin Jost, who made his name on Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live is the host. Viewers can catch the premiere on December 4, 2024.
