The Pioneer Woman star Alex Drummond Scott and her husband Mauricio are expecting a baby girl in January. While they wait for their bundle of joy to arrive, they’re getting cozy for the holiday season. In a new interview, Alex revealed her happy home is already decorated and she can’t wait for Christmas to arrive.

Alex Drummond Scott Soaks Up The Holidays While Expecting

Back in October, Ree Drummond proudly shared photos of Alex’s baby shower, proclaiming how excited she was to have a granddaughter.

When baby Sofia arrives, Alex and Mauricio will definitely have their hands full. For the time being, they’re content to enjoy the holiday season and relax for a while.

Above all else, Alex Drummond Scott wanted to highlight her childhood traditions in her adult home.

“When I was growing up, all the traditions made our childhood so special,” she shared in The Pioneer Woman Magazine, as reported by PEOPLE. “It’ll be fun once we have our daughter to see what traditions evolve.”

As Alex and Mauricio celebrate their last Christmas as a family of two, they’ve got the Christmas decoration staples. They absolutely had to have personalized stockings and a Nativity scene. On top of that, wreaths decorate every window as well as the front door.

As for the living room, the couple opted for a very cozy vibe. They have garland on the staircase banister and Christmas-themed throw pillows on the couch. And no living room would be complete without the Christmas tree.

“We’ll make hot cocoa or soup, put on a Home Alone movie and have a cozy night in,” she said about making new memories with Mauricio.

Ree Drummond Disapproves Of One Important Element

According to Alex, her tree has become a hot-button issue with her parents, Ree and Ladd.

“My parents are very much pro real tree, so they kind of give us a hard time for having a fake one,” Alex continued. “Once we have kids, we’ll probably make the switch — it’s a fun experience to pick out a tree and chop it down. But for now the ease of an artificial tree is hard to resist!”

Mauricio and Alex also wanted their kitchen to be inviting — especially since Alex wants to carry on her mom’s holiday baking traditions. She’s been baking cinnamon rolls to bring to loved ones. The magazine reveals Alex’s kitchen contains many nods to her mother’s iconic Pioneer Woman brand, including the ornament cookie jar and dutch oven.
