‘DWTS’ Keo Motstepe Shares True Thoughts On Carrie Ann Amid Scandal
Former DWTS pro Keo Motsepe would absolutely love to be back on the stage. Fans won’t know if he made the cut until Season 34 rolls around, but there’s plenty of reason to hold out hope. In the meantime, the South African dancer is sharing his thoughts on the current season.
Keo Motsepe Thinks Fans Need To Settle Down
Since Season 33 kicked off, many viewers have had harsh words for Carrie Ann Inaba. Several viewers think she’s biased against certain contestants, particularly Chandler Kinney. Some have even called for her firing.
But Keo Motsepe thinks fans need to relax a little bit and go easy on the judge.
“Here’s the thing, if anyone comes on the show and they have dance experience, they’re going to come and week one is just, boom! Up there, right?” Keo shared in a new interview with The Sun. “The judges are subconsciously and automatically going to place you on that level, right? So they’re going to pick every single thing that you do wrong.”
He went on to demonstrate how the judges might pick apart arm placement and how a dancer moves on the floor. Especially in the beginning, the judges critique based on how much dance knowledge they know a participant has.
“They’re going to find things because they want you to keep that level that you came with because you can’t come so strong and then it goes away,” Keo continued. “They’re going to pinpoint every single thing then, but then you have other celebrities who come on the show with no dance experience and they just keep on improving and growing. I don’t think it’s easy for the judges. You see what I’m saying? Where with someone who does not have as much dance experience, you have to look for something that you like.”
The Dancer Hopes The Show Will Offer Him A Spot Next Year
Keo Motsepe hasn’t been on DWTS since Season 29. After losing his mother, he took some time to focus on himself and work on other projects.
“I think, after losing my mom, I was in a space where, like, whether I get a call or not, I was just like, I didn’t know where was forward, where was side up or down,” he told The Sun. “It was a very rough time for me personally, so I think that is the big part of just not doing the show or doing something that will put me on a stage that is like publicly or whatever.”
However, he said he would absolutely love to return to the show in the future. Perhaps Season 34 will be his year.
Do you agree with what Keo Motsepe had to say about the judges? Do you still think Carrie Ann Inaba is in the wrong? Be sure to share your own thoughts and ideas in the comments.
