Jeff Probst Explains What He Wants In All-Star ‘Survivor 50’
Jeff Probst is working hard on the lineup for Survivor 50. The season will air around Spring 2026, and it will be the first returning players show since Season 40 (Winners At War). This cast has a chance to have a ton of great players from the past, and Jeff has an idea for who he doesn’t want.
Here is what Jeff had to say about the upcoming all-star season of the hit reality TV show.
Jeff Probst Has One Guideline For Survivor 50 All-Stars
Jeff Probst has worked as the Survivor host since the show started. He is now also the showrunner, so he has a big hand in creating the new seasons. He said that there is one guideline on creating the all-star show.
“Imagine you have just an empty whiteboard and you can write anything you want on it. The first word that came to me was celebrate,” Jeff said. “And that’s important to me because that’s going to guide us into our creative. We want fans to be happy. We want this to be a celebration” (via Entertainment Weekly).
This means that he wants to have players return who were having fun on the show. He doesn’t want players who have a grudge they want to fulfill. He wants only the players who are excited to be on Survivor.
“We want players who are also excited to be on it. This is not Winners at War. It doesn’t mean we don’t want players who are going to play hard,” Jeff said. “We’re not looking for disgruntled players looking to settle a score. We’re looking for players who want a second chance, who have something to prove to themselves.”
Who Could Return For Survivor 50?
There are several people who could return for Survivor 50 when the first all-star edition of the New Era takes place. With the comments by Jeff Probst about wanting people who want to return for the right reasons (fun), there are several options who could return.
Jeff said he started with a list of about 200 people. It included many fan-favorite players, former winners, and those with unfinished business. With him saying he doesn’t want the “unfinished business” players, it helped him narrow things down. He got it to 125 former players and then 100.
With that in mind, there are some great players who could return for Survivor 50. Names that could return include Cirie Fields, Courtney Yates, Natalie Bolton, Erik Reichenbach, Matty Whitmore, Natalie White, Spencer Bledsoe, Mike White, and many more.
Who do you want to see on Survivor 50 when it comes to returning all-stars? Do you agree with Jeff Probst that it should be stars happy to return and not people looking at retribution? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
