‘1000-Lb Best Friends’ Meghan Crumpler Takes Freezing Plunge
The stars of 1000-Lb Best Friends haven’t seen eye to eye recently, but it seems like things are taking a positive turn. In tonight’s new episode, Meghan Crumpler, Vannessa Cross, and Ashely Sutton get together to try something new — an ice plunge.
Ice baths are notoriously uncomfortable, which isn’t something the women seem likely to try. But it seems like fans will be pleasantly surprised with how the session went.
Meghan Crumpler Feels Determined To Reach Her Goals
On this season of 1000-Lb Best Friends, Meghan Crumpler and Dr. Procter have been at odds. He wants her to lose more weight, while she wants him to do a bariatric revision surgery on her. He told the TLC star if she could lose 30-40 lbs on her own, he would consider the procedure.
As Meghan works toward her new weight loss goal, she and the other women decide to try an ice plunge.
“Meghan is the ice bath champ! 🏆 ❄️See the besties’ polar plunge on #1000lbBestFriends, returning tonight at 10/9c,” the official TLC Instagram account captioned a new teaser.
In the clip, the women stand around an ice bath with Meghan declaring she’s getting back in. In her confessional, she shares she wants to get to at least two minutes.
“We lost her! She’s the exorcist,” Vannessa jokes as Meghan makes faces while submerged in the unbearably cold water.
“It’s like cold ass needles, everywhere!” Meghan reveals in her confessional. “As the girls were cheering me on, it makes me feel invincible. I’m so freaking proud of myself. I did it. Hearing Dr. Procter’s goal for 30 or 40 lbs, I was blown away. I was literally shocked. But after getting in this ice bath for two minutes, honey child, I can do anything.”
The TLC star ultimately spent a total of two minutes and 15 seconds in the ice bath.

Meghan Crumpler generally isn’t the most popular cast member, but Instagram users encouraged her in the comments. They’re used to seeing her give up and pick fights with her healthcare team, but they love seeing Meghan so determined to accomplish something. Climbing into a bath of freezing ice water isn’t exactly something people are lining up to try.
