'Family Feud' Contestant Gets In Steve Harvey's Face

During a recent episode of Family Feud, one contestant was able to render host Steve Harvey speechless. Not only did one of the player’s guesses surprise the host, the real surprise was coming next. By the end of the show, the player even ended up getting right into Harvey’s face.

It Came Down To A Question About Chewing Gum

On the recent episode, a contestant named Liz competed as part of the Colley family. As the show went on, she got to take part in the Fast Money round.

Liz was the second player in the round, going after a contestant named Susan. Per the rules, Liz was given the same questions as Susan, but couldn’t give the same answers.

Harvey asked each contestant to name a place where a driver’s ed teacher should get combat pay, the average height of a giraffe, a method of getting chewing gum out of hair, and a word that goes after pine. The final question asked the contestant to name someone who asks personal questions.

Susan’s responses were Los Angeles, 10 feet, hairspray, tree, and a doctor, respectively. Ultimately, her guesses earned her a score of 119. “Hairspray” was the only guess that didn’t earn her any points.

Soon, it was Liz’s turn. Her first four respective answers read New York, 12 feet, peanut butter, and cone. For the final question, she initially guessed “doctor” like Susan, and had to switch to “mother.” In order to win, as Harvey noted, her guesses would have to earn 81 points.

While reading out Liz’s answers, it was her guess of “peanut butter” that confused Harvey. Before seeing its score, Harvey mused, “I don’t know what the hell that got to do with it, but sound good to me. What, you put it on there and eat it out?”

Liz claimed, “I just think I remember hearing that sometime.” This caused Harvey to quip, “Oh, you don’t really know that.”

However, the guess ended up earning 31 points, which was more than was needed to win. This helped earn her family the $20,000 grand prize.

Harvey could be seen stunned as the score came in. He continued to look shocked as the family started to dance on stage. Poking fun at the situation, Liz even started chanting “peanut butter” right to his face.

As noted by Monsters & Critics, the clip of Liz’s win was even uploaded on YouTube. Notably, the video was titled, “RIP. Liz humiliates Steve Harvey in Fast Money.”

In popular culture, peanut butter has often been used as a life-hack to fighting gum in hair. On one episode of The Simpsons, for example, Marge has the idea to use peanut butter to help Lisa after she gets gum in her hair, saying she got the idea from lifestyle columnist Heloise. However, in a comedy of errors, it doesn’t work.
