Sarah Drew Compares Mistletoe Murders Character to Alias Or Veronica Mars
Who is Emily Lane? In a new interview with TV Fanatic, Sarah Drew talked about her character in the Hallmark+ holiday mystery series Mistletoe Murders. While sleuther Emily Lane owns a Christmas shop called Under The Mistletoe in the bucolic town of Fletcher’s Grove, there is an underlying mystery that runs throughout the first season. Who is Emily? Most of all, the Branching Out star is thrilled that this mystery is a slow burn.
We take out time teasing out who really is Emily Lane though out the fist season. We really only leave some breadcrumbs. There are a couple little flashbacks. But you begin to see that she has skills a Christmas shop owner should not possess.
Describing Emily as “feisty,” Sarah assures that Emily is a good person. Moreover, she wants justice done. She just does not want to see the wrong person go down. It is just that she has a whole backstory that remains mostly a mystery. But you get to know her best when she is narrating. You see what her mind is thinking.
Most of all, Drew compares this mystery to Alias or Veronica Mars.
Hallmark+ Mistletoe Murders Is Six Episodes Long
The first season of the Hallmark+ holiday mystery series Mistletoe Murders is six episodes long, just like the Audible Original series. There are three mysteries that are each two episodes long. The odd-numbered episodes have a big cliffhanger that needs to be resolved in the next episode. But, there is another story that runs throughout each episode and continues through the season. That is the mystery about Emily Lane.
Moreover, Sarah promises the Mistletoe Murders series is “cozy Christmas, but it’s got some grit and some crime, and some drama.” She also promises comedy and adventure as well. She teases that the first episode is “very noiry.” Then shares, “The second one has some really fun quirky comedy.” Lastly, she describes the third mystery like, “Scooby-Doo treasure hunt adventure.”
Best of all, this is a mashup of Christmas and mystery.
Hallmark+ will drop the first episode of Mistletoe Murders Season 1 on Thursday, October 31.
