Michael Strahan and Robin Roberts have both worked in television for more than a decade. They are also known for their repertoire working together. The two recent had a funny exchange on Good Morning America involving a certain pop star.

Robin Roberts Showcased Some Pretty Popular Bracelets

On a recent airing of GMA, Roberts presented a story covering Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. As she noted, Swift would perform three sold-out shows in Miami. She would then finish the last leg of the tour in New Orleans.

Roberts noted the star’s performance helped various local economies. Notably, this included people selling friendship bracelets online, which fans have been making to pay homage to Swift.

The origin of the bracelets can be traced to Swift’s song, “You’re on Your Own, Kid” from her Midnights album. As the song says, “So, make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it.” Since its release, fans have been inspired to make bracelets, whether it’s to celebrate attending Swift’s shows or to sell them online.

These bracelets have brought about $7 million in sales through Etsy this year. Roberts even showed off a few of these bracelets on the show.

Viewers could purchase the bracelets seen onscreen through a QR code. However, Roberts herself seemed interested in them herself.

Roberts then told her co-hosts, “And keep your paws off because all of those are coming with me to New Orleans. I’ve got a lot of trading to do. It’s my goddaughter’s 16th birthday.”

However, Strahan was having none of that. As he chimed in off-camera: “Robin, I love how you blame your goddaughter. They’re for you. Own up to it. It’s OK. Everyone loves Taylor Swift.”

Roberts Isn’t The Only Swift Fan On GMA

Strahan wasn’t the only co-host to chime in. Sam Champion claimed Roberts had been to Swift’s tour around “500 times.” Roberts claimed that she and her wife Amber Laign even visited the Eras Tour and London’s Wembley Stadium.

Good Morning America also shared the clip of Roberts presenting the bracelets on its official Instagram page. As the caption read, “We’re getting in on the Taylor Swift friendship bracelet craze with help from these small businesses.”

However, Roberts is not the only GMA co-host to visit the Eras Tour. As noted by Monsters & Critics, George Stephanopoulos, for example, attended at least one of the performances in Miami.

Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour first started in March 2023 in Glendale, Arizona. Performances haven’t just been throughout the United States, but have also taken place in Asia, Europe, Oceania, and other parts of North and South America.
