‘Bachelor Summer Games’ Officially Canceled Due To Coronavirus
Another show bites the dust. It was officially announced today that Bachelor Summer Games is a no go. The news comes due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Many fans were looking forward to the two week series taking place alongside the Summer Olympics. The Summer Olympics will now take place in July 2021.
Bachelor Summer Games canceled
Hollywood Reporter shared news of the cancellation. The Coronavirus pandemic is changing the world on a daily basis. Television is also a casualty of this war. Summer Games would feature international contestants from The Bachelor franchise. The show has aired in over 30 countries around the world.
No contestants were announced. However, many names were being thrown around. Some of those were JoJo Fletcher, Jordan Rodgers and Hannah Brown. The show would be similar to Bachelor Winter Games. This series aired during the Winter Olympics in 2018.
There’s no official word yet if Bachelor Summer Games will be rescheduled next summer. However, creator Mike Fleiss tweeted out another article by Variety regarding the cancellation and had something to say. He said, “‘The Bachelor Summer Games’ Shelved at ABC Due to Coronavirus – Variety The Games will return in 2021!!!” This is all unprecedented and everyone will have to wait and see how it all plays out.

What about other franchise shows?
As fans already know, The Bachelorette featuring Clare Crawley has already been placed on hold. The Bachelorette should have premiered in May. With the virus putting everything and everyone on lock-down, it is clear that May premiere will not happen. At this point it is anyone’s guess when or even if this season will be filmed.
As far as Bachelor in Paradise, no decision has been made yet on Season 7. Robert Mills stated March 11, “It’s all being talked about because you have to see how this impacts everything. But it’s still too far to make decisions on anything. The summer stuff is a little farther out and in early days, really. Everyone is being vigilant. Right now, literally every hour you are getting the updates and watching and everyone will be nimble based on that.”
Fans remain disappointed about all the delays with their favorite Bachelor shows. However, there is a new one premiering April 13. The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart has already filmed and will be airing beginning Monday night, April 13. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
