Over the past few months, there have been plenty of rumors about Jeopardy! and Ken Jennings. The main rumors are that producers are second-guessing keeping Ken on as the show’s host and are looking at other options. Now, with Ryan Seacrest as the new host of Wheel of Fortune, they are also looking at those ratings.

Here is how Seacrest could play into Jennings’ future on Jeopardy!

Is Ken Jennings In Danger Of Losing Jeopardy! Job?

Ken Jennings is now the only Jeopardy! host starting this season with Mayim Bialik removed from the promotion. He should be settling into the role now since he has secured the full-time position, but there are rumors producers are not completely sold on him.

There is a new Jeopardy! spinoff based on pop culture coming to Prime Video, and Colin Jost was signed to host the show. Instead of a former champion, Jost is a Saturday Night Live star, which will bring a new celebrity into the world of game shows.

With that in mind, some people say producers want to see how Colin does and fan reaction. This could possibly affect Ken Jennings’ future on the main show. However, this is now even more interesting with Ryan Seacrest on Wheel of Fortune.

While many fans have been blasting Ryan as a game show host, the ratings have been solid, and the premiere blew away Pat Sajak’s last season on the show. With Ryan doing so well, Jeopardy! might consider a celebrity to help ratings there as well.

Ryan Seacrest Succeeding On Wheel Of Fortune Against The Odds

Ryan Seacrest had a tough time when he joined Wheel of Fortune. Unlike Ken Jennings, who was a popular Jeopardy! champion before he was a host, Ryan was an outsider. Plus, he is polarizing, and many fans were against him coming in even before his first appearance on the show.

Ryan Seacrest came in, and the ratings were great. He has made some mistakes here and there, and plenty of people have been bashing him. However, he has just as many people praising him, and he is now seen as a success. Now, people wonder if his celebrity status is the reason ratings are higher than with Pat Sajak.

Other shows succeeded with celebrities. Drew Carey has been on The Price is Right for years while Steve Harvey is a hit on The Family Feud. Now, Ryan Seacrest is on Wheel of Fortune, and Colin Jost is on Pop Culture Jeopardy!

Do you like Ken Jennings as the Jeopardy! host? Or, do you think it might be better to have a celebrity in the role? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

  1. Would be a mistake to fire Ken Jennings, I think he is doing great. Do not like Ryan Seacrest & it is difficult to watch Wheel since he is host. Have been watching Jeopardy for many years and hope to keep watching with Ken as host.

    1. Leave Ken alone. He is new to the show and is doing a fantastic job. Jeopardy is a hard show to host but Ken is the right man for Jeopardy. If he gets replaced then I will quit watching the show.

    2. Ryan Seacrest is doing a great job as host for The Wheel of Fortune! He is so friendly and nice to the contestants. Vanna adores him like a little brother. Pat Sajak was so ready to take a break from hosting the show.

    3. Don’t Ken Jennings and as for Ryan Seacrest.
He never stays with any show for a long period of time. Why did he get the job ???

    4. I like Jen Jennings….
he seems to fit the show very well. he’s a good follow up to the previous host.

        1. I’ll quit watching too. I like Ken. He is doing a great job. Alex wanted him to host after he left. So, no Ken, then I quit watching. I’ve been watching since Jeopardy first started with I believe Hugh Downs as host. That’s a lot of years to stick with one show.

    5. I like both guys. I never cared for
Pat Sajak. But I watch Wheel of Fortune all the time since he’s not there. Ryan is awesome and brings joy to the show.

    6. My husband and I agree. We think Ken Jennings is the perfect answer (question )as to who should be hosting Jeopardy.

    7. I fully Agree. Ken i believe is doing great. A once in a while goof but recovers well.
Ryan is doing well but I don’t care for the new Set and wheel format

  2. I love Ken Jennings. Why would you even think about replacing him. He is cordial and quick with kind reflections and comments. Do not replace him. He is a winner.

      1. Ken is great for the host! Ryan is not. annoying and too much interaction and verbilization with contestants. long time nightly viewer about to pass

  3. Please don’t even consider replacing Ken Jennings from Jeopardy! We watch the show every day and record it if we are not going to be home. We miss Alex Trebeck but Ken is the perfect replacement. He is intelligent and witty and “easy on the eyes”. A perfect game show host!

    1. I agree! Ken is perfect! I have watched for many years, but if they replace Ken- I don’t think I could watch. I don’t watch Wheel of Fortune, because I don’t care for Ryan Seacrest! Ken is still the longest running champion. He knows Jeopardy! Leave Jeopardy alone!

  4. I have always thought Jeopardy! could do better than Ken Jennings. He is a boring host. Ryan Seacrest is doing GREAT on Wheel. He is entertaining, engaging with the contestants, and overall makes it fun to watch.

  5. I never thought Jennings was right for the job and still don’t. Do I have a better suggestion? Other than LeVar Burton, whom they already passed over, no I don’t.

  6. Please, please, please do NOT fire Ken Jennings! I think he’s doing a great job! He is the ideal person for this game show!

  7. Ken Jennings is doing a great job. why should you fire him if he’s doing a great job. Alex is not and easy person to follow. Ryan Seacrest is doing an ok job on the wheel of fortune. He’s not doing as well as Ken

  8. I’m casting my vote for Ken also. I’d rather miss ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ than Jeopardy. Please keep Ken Jennings as Jeopardy host!!!.

  9. I think Ken is doing a nice job. It’s just interesting that they now want to consider a celebrity after failing to give Levar Burton a shot.

  10. Ken Jennings is wonderful as host of Jeopardy. Plus he has a history with the show as the first long running Champion and he had a relationship with Alex Trebek, which is comforting for those of us that have invested so many years watching.

    1. Absolutely! Jeopardy is an intellectual show, and Ken Jennings is an intellectual, as well as a Jeopardy hero. We’ve seen celebrities host the show, and they simply tell contestants that their answers are correct or incorrect; Ken often adds to that, since he has such impressive knowledge. A celebrity is fine for a show based on luck, but Jeopardy must have a beloved intellectual, and Ken is that!

      1. As a very long time viewer, I agree wholeheartedly!! I don’t think Jeopardy is the program for a celebrity who might be able to host just any show. Nobody could have better replaced Alex like Ken has!

  11. Leave Ken alone – he’s great. Can’t stand Ryan and have stopped watching Wheel. Don’t want a “celebrity” ruining Jeopardy. I have watched this show since Art Fleming was the host.

    1. Ken Jennings is an Awesome Host of Jeopardy! He is smart , intelligent, kind, and keeps the show moving and the questions coming and adds tidbits of information to some of the answers.

  12. Ken Jennings is doing an excellent job. he has a history as a past contestant, a relationship with Alex Trebec and presents him very well on the show. get off your celebrity kit and leave the man alone. if your ratings have dropped it is not because of Ken Jennings it is the content of the show and all your repeats during off season
repeatedly showing past winners is BORING.

  13. Are you kidding me……Ken Jennings is terrific as host….smart, great with the contestants.
This job requires someone with a brain and there aren’t many hosts who have his experience and knowledge. One of the reasons I watch every day is because Ken is charge.

  14. Please don’t fire Ken Jennings. I know he is not Alex Trebeck, but Alex is no longer with us. Alex liked Ken and so do I. Ryan Segrest is doing OK to me as well. Pat retired. He left some big shoes to fill. It is hard to fill those big shoes. This would be the same for anyone trying to fill both Alex and Pat’s shoes. They were loved and it is hard to see them leave.

  15. My husband & I both love Ken Jennings on Jeopardy! He is doing an excellent job. He is knowledgeable, loves Jeopardy & had a relationship with Alex. Please leave him alone!

  16. I’m afraid you would lose a lot of loyal Jeopardy viewers if you put Ryan Seacrest as host. He’s too immature and and why would you want someone that does the Dick Clark New Years Eve count down to spear head a show like Jeopardy. He’s just not professional enough.

  17. I think Ken is great! I think he’s funny and so welcoming to all the players. please don’t change Jeopardy! it’s great!

  18. Please leave Ken alone! I love him as Jeopardy! host. He’s funny and relatable. I watch him everyday. I don’t think game shows need celebrities to host them. Let
    Ken keep his job!

  19. Ken is doing an excellent job!!!
He kinda reminds me of Alex, now that he’s more comfortable. Love Ken, leave him alone!!

  20. Ken is good But he needs to loosen up and go over and shake hands at end of the show , he’s very standoffish and it’s not a covid19 thing .
He suit pants are too tight maybe ?

  21. Alex Trebeck was irreplaceable but he adored Ken Jennings and Ken is the perfect host now that we don’t have Alex. Jeopardy is as intellectual a game show as there is on TV & Ken’s obvious intellect blends perfectly with the contestants. Like Alex, he acts as a genial host, not “the star” of the show.

  22. I like Ken. Was never happy with the women who alternated with him (Marium? ). As far as Ryan I could take him or leave him. Never went out of my way to watch him on any of the shows he MC

  23. I like Ken. Ryan Seacrest will jump ship and go with anyone who offers him .5o cents more. Let Ken continue

  24. Ken is doing a super job in every way. As a very long-time viewer, I don’t think Jeopardy is the program for a celebrity who might be able to host just any show. Nobody could have better replaced Alex like Ken has!

  25. I believe Ryan is just getting a bump on his ratings due to his celebrity following. I also believe this is a younger generation who with time will lose interest in any game show. This is a complicated show and only someone with the trivia background as Ken has can steer it in a smooth direction, as was proven with Myam”s less than stellar performance. Given some time I feel Ryan’s ratings will fall off.

  26. I personally think you have your answer on Ken Jennings. Now that we are older, we enjoy watching the show. We do watch wheel and Seacrest (I assume) is doing his best. It takes time in anything you do to feel comfortable. Is he the best? I don’t know but at least give it time. If and I say if he is the type to jump ship over money, then you may want to take a closer look. We both like watching Ken. Thank you and have a nice day. Lynn P

  27. Ken Jennings was meant to be Alex’s replacement he is very intelligent and has a great personality too! Much better than any celebrity!

  28. We watch jeopardy every day. Ken Jennings is great. He was a super contestant and a great host. Ryan Secrest is going a good job also. People should not compare them to the previous hosts who were in the positions for years. Different personalities fit new times. Change is ok!!!!

  29. Ken Jennings was my choice to replace Alex when he had to retire and he is still my choice. He is doing a fantastic job!
