Jeff Probst Names One ‘Survivor’ Player Could Be A Good Producer

Jeff Probst has hosted Survivor since the show premiered. Over the last decade, he has also moved into a main producer role. He has no intention of leaving anytime soon, but he has an idea for a former contestant who could join production for the show as well.

Here is who Jeff thinks would make a good member of the Survivor production team.

Jeff Probst On Who Would Be Good As Survivor Producer

There have been hundreds of people who have competed on Survivor over the years. There have been so many that Jeff has a board that he had 100 names on just for the upcoming all-star show. However, he has one of those in mind for who could be a good part of the production team.

Jeff was on his On Fire with Jeff Probst podcast to discuss the production side of things. He said it was not out of the question that a former competitor could move into a producer role on the show. Probst says a perfect fit would be Mike White from Season 37 (David vs. Goliath).

Mike finished second place that season. However, Jeff pulled out his name because Mike was an Emmy-award-winning director, writer, and producer since he appeared on Survivor. He is still working in Hollywood. Mike was a producer on The White Lotus.

“If after Mike White completes what we all hope will be a decades-long run of The White Lotus, and he said, ‘Hey, Probst, I’d be interested in being a producer on the show,” Jeff began. He then said that – if a spot was open – he could “join the producing ranks of Survivor.”

This isn’t likely to happen, though, as Mike producing The White Lotus is a huge deal. Even when that show ends, he is successful enough to get to do anything he wants. There isn’t a reason he would join a team on Survivor rather than pitch his next big idea.

Jeff Probst Has High Opinion Of Survivor Team

Jeff Probst feels his team on Survivor is one of the best in the business. He touched on this recently when discussing other shows casting former Survivor players.

Survivor players have shown up on The Traitors, House of Villains, Big Brother, Deal or No Deal Island, The Goat, and even Jeopardy!. According to Probst, this shows the overall talent of the Survivor casting team.

“There is no better casting team in our genre than ours. And that is proven out by how many other shows want Survivor players,” Jeff said. “So I’ve been really happy to see this proliferation of shows that don’t have a casting department. They just rely on other shows.”

What are your thoughts on Jeff Probst’s idea of Mike White joining the Survivor production team? Do you think White would even consider it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
