Things have been hitting the fan of late regarding Kate Gosselin and allegations that she was abusive toward her children. This could not have come at a worse time for her, as she is having money issues, and is shopping around for a new show. What else do we know about the current situation for Kate?
Kate Gosselin Hit With Bombshell Abuse Allegations
20-year-old Collin Gosselin came forth with some shocking claims, alleging that his estranged mother, Kate Gosselin, would zip-tie his hands and feet together as a kid. He went on to allege that his mother kept him in a locked room with cameras and a mattress on the floor.
Kate Gosselin infamously put Collin in a facility when he was younger, which caused a lot of drama on its own. However, these additional allegations from her son are not doing Kate any favors in terms of any public sympathy going her way.
If anything, most fans support Jon Gosselin, who lives with both Hannah Gosselin and Collin Gosselin.
Is Kate Gosselin Broke And Desperate?
With these incendiary abuse allegations coming out, an insider recently dished on the current state of Kate Gosselin’s affairs. Based on what this insider had to say, things are not looking good for the mother of eight.
Speaking recently with InTouch, the insider said: “She doesn’t date or socialize with friends. Even her nursing job that paid her a fraction of what she made on Kate Plus 8 didn’t pan out. She’s hurting for money and facing the very real possibility of having to sell her house in North Carolina.”
Former TLC Mom Shopping For Another Reality Show?
As anyone who follows TLC shows knows, getting in good with the network can be a lucrative deal for everyone. Popular families with popular shows regularly make as much as ten percent of the production budget per episode. This translates to roughly $25k to $40k per episode. Also, when you multiply that by 10 or more episodes a season, that money can easily pile up.
Unfortunately for Kate Gosselin, the insider went on to add that the chances of her getting back on reality television are slim to none, especially with all of the abuse allegations going around.
The insider went on to add: “She’s still trying to get a new reality show, but doors aren’t opening for her, especially now that she’s been painted a lunatic mom who zip-tied and locked her son in the basement room. No one would be surprised if she started begging for handouts.”
No doubt, longtime fans will surely watch this Kate Gosselin dumpster fire play out, as she continues to struggle and tries to stay afloat.
