‘DWTS’ Julianne Hough Shuts Down Body Shamers
Dancing With The Stars hostess Julianne Hough deals with body shamers on a regular basis. The 36-year-old has a petite frame as a result of her professional dancing career. But online, many make jokes about her body and accuse her of unhealthy weight loss practices.
As one can imagine, these accusations can take a heavy toll on a person’s mental health. But Julianne isn’t letting the haters get to her.

DWTS Hostess Julianne Hough Defends Herself From Body Shamers
Julianne Hough may be thin, but she wants to assure followers she’s healthy and well.
“I don’t usually address comments like this but I’m going to say a few things about this video,” Julianne began her Instagram post before addressing specific criticisms she frequently receives from followers.
“My body has never been healthier – I was full of inflammation in my 20’s and had a marker for an autoimmune that I addressed and committed to over a year and a half ago,” she shared. “I’ve frozen my eggs over the last few years which also shifts the body fluctuation. I’ve never been healthier or happier from the inside out. Grief, loss. Sadness and fear also get stored in the body and we hold on to that in different ways. I made it a huge priority to accept, express, process and release a lot of emotions over the years.”
Julianne went on to say that she enjoys sharing her playful side with the world, which is truly her most authentic version.
“For those of you genuinely concerned because this is unusual for you to see, I understand that what you don’t understand feels unfamiliar and sometimes scary,” the DWTS hostess continued. “I’m going to continue feeling safe within myself regardless of the outpouring of your comments, and have fun with life which can be really heavy and challenging. So why not be playful and laugh and enjoy the journey instead of taking everything so seriously. … Sending love, light and playful energy your way 💕”

DWTS Fans Stick Up For The Dancer
Some Instagram users continued calling out the dancer’s “weird” behavior and made rude comments on her body. However, plenty of other users stuck up for Julianne Hough and defended her. These Instagram comments included:
- “Why when a woman is happy, confident and comfortable with herself do people get concerned and judge harshly?”
- “Body goals 🙌🔥🔥 it’s sad how when someone is ‘weird’ or ‘quirky’ they’re labeled with a mid life crisis or in drugs. Ladies take a look, it’s OK for us to have fun, be weird and dance in our underwear!”
- “She’s in a bathing suit dancing and being silly…what is wrong with everyone? Scroll on if it bothers you. She sure isn’t.”
- “I cannot believe these comments. What is wrong with people? Very disappointing, I’m sorry Julianne.”
