‘Sister Wives’ Janelle Brown Slams Kody & Robyn’s ‘Poor Parenting’
Sister Wives star, Janelle Brown slammed her ex-husband and former sister wife, Kody and Robyn Brown’s “poor parenting.” She and former third wife, Christine Brown Woolley have taken exception for the way he favored Robyn’s kids. Yet, during the Sunday, September 29th episode, Janelle saw improper parenting and had no problem calling it out. Keep reading for more details.
Janelle Brown Slams Kody & Robyn’s ‘Poor Parenting’
Once Kody Brown married wife number four, Robyn Brown in 2010, everything changed. She brought with her three children from her previous marriage. They then went on to have two more kids, Solomon and Ariella whom Kody seemed to favor. As the years went on, Kody claimed that Robyn and her five kids were the most “obedient” and “loyal” of all of the family. More so, he was not the most attentive father to his other 13 children, especially during the pandemic.
Kody alleged that since Janelle Brown and Christine Brown Woolley were not following his strict pandemic protocols, their children were being just as lax. He stopped spending time at their homes, which Christine maintained had happened before the pandemic and the kids did not feel connected to their dad. In the early days of the show, Kody appeared to give all of his kids equal love, time, and attention. On the Sunday, September 30th episode of Sister Wives, Kody noted how he would try to go see the OG3 and their kids. However, Ariella would not allow it, holding onto his leg:
“Ariella was melting down. She grabs my leg and won’t let me leave. And I’m like, ‘Robyn I need you to drag her off me.’ And she says, ‘She’s expressing herself. You’re gonna have to take five minutes and let her do it.’ She’s just dragging along my leg screaming, ‘Don’t leave me, Daddy! Don’t leave me.’ And I’m like, ‘Gah lee, man, this is hard.’”
Robyn would tell Kody that he had to stay with her and calm her down whereas she alleged that she knew the importance of him being with his other families. Furthermore, Kody stated he could not be away from Ariella and Solomon longer than 3 or 4 days. Per E! News, Janelle Brown double-downed on that and noted that her children dealt with the rotation and long separations just fine:
“My kids from the very beginning knew that their dad was not going to always be there. I always felt like Kody and Robyn mismanaged the situation with their children. He couldn’t be away for more than three or four days because Ari just gets so sad or whatever. I feel like that was poor parenting. Through all history of the family, the other kids did it and they’re fine. They’re well-adjusted adults.”
Robyn Takes Over
It has long been Robyn Brown’s way or the highway. This prompted Kody Brown’s wives to exit the family based on how much he favored her. Janelle Brown further added that the children never felt comfortable at her home despite allegations that Robyn was the one who felt shut out:
“With Robyn there was always a very separateness. My children were always scolded if they opened up Robyn’s fridge.”
Christine Brown Woolley, who has since remarried, shared this about how her six children felt about Robyn:
“My kids didn’t like going over there because they saw that Robyn and their dad were a couple and he wasn’t in our home. So they were frustrated.”
For many years, the Brown kids shared one home which was divided up into three areas for each wife which Kody would split his time. Then, Robyn came in and changed the whole dynamic and nothing has been the same ever since.
