‘Y&R’ Joshua Morrow Reveals True Feelings About Sharon Case

With The Young & the Restless recently honoring actress Sharon Case’s time on the show, one of her cast-mates, Joshua Morrow, has opened up on what it’s like working with her. Morrow also talked about the return of another actor on the series. He even revealed if he’d think if he’d like to do a story like Case’s current storyline.

Sharon Newman’s Going Through A Downward Spiral

On the series, Morrow plays Nicholas “Nick” Newman. Nick and Sharon have a long history together, with Nick even being the adoptive father of her late daughter, Cassie.

Morrow noted the different ways Case’s character can be taken reflects her “incredible talent.” As he explained, “I think the Sharon character has been asked to do more on this show than anyone.” Morrow continued, “The places they’ve taken her, the stories she’s had to tell — it’s just an incredible spectrum and she just knocks it out of the park.”

Recently on the series, Case’s character, Sharon Newman, has been going down a downward spiral, wanting to avenge the death of her daughter. All the while, she is tormented by the image of Cameron Kirsten. Morrow added that, “I can’t wait for the fans to see what she does with this storyline with her and Cameron Kirsten and where this is going.”

Morrow was also happy to see Linden Mashby back on set as Cameron. Describing him as “the best,” he shared that “He’s got that sort of Southern mentality that I have, too. He’s a good dude, just a great, great guy, you know? He’s a guy’s guy.”

As he noted with Soap Opera Digest, Morrow continued that, “Linden really cares about each beat. He cares about the work so much and I really admire that about him because how much he cares about his work really shows. He carries it with no ego. He’s just really a guy made of good stuff. So I’m a big fan of his, obviously.”

Morrow Shared If He Thought Nick Could Go Through A Similar Story

The Cameron Kirsten character had previously been killed off in 2023. However, Linden Ashby would return to the series in 2024 as part of Sharon’s hallucinations.

The actor also noted how well Ashby and Case work together on the show. As Morrow explained, “The fact that he’s been conjured up in Sharon’s mind and their chemistry together and the way they play off each other…It’s just awesome and it’s because of who Sharon is and who Linden is.”

When asked if he would have liked his character to have gone through a similar arc, Morrow admitted he’d like to work with Ashby, but felt that “Nick is too put-together for something like this!” He also felt that only Case and Ashby could bring the same “impact” they did to the storyline. Ultimately, he surmised that, “So I’m only envious because I don’t think I’d be able to do it nearly as well as Sharon is! She’s killing it. I’m very proud of her.”
