Anna Delvey Trashes ‘DWTS,’ Deems Show ‘Predatory’

Right from the start, Anna Delvey was a controversial casting choice for Dancing With The Stars Season 33.

After her elimination, viewers believe she behaved incredibly disrespectfully. At the end of Tuesday night’s episode, she bluntly said she wouldn’t take anything away from her experience. And in a follow-up interview, she said her favorite part of the competition was getting eliminated.

But now that Anna Delvey is returning to her regular life, she’s calling out DWTS for its predatory nature.

Anna Delvey Feels Victimized By Dancing With The Stars

Before the season began, Anna Delvey seemed largely disinterested in competing. She joked that she would put the Mirrorball Trophy in a storage closet if she won.

But after her elimination, the con artist is speaking out. She feels that the ABC show used her for ratings and never intended to give her a second chance.

“I feel that the show so obviously used me to drive up the ratings, that they never had any plans to give me any chance to grow and only cared about exploiting me for attention,” Anna Delvey told NBC in an email. “It was predatory of them to try [to] make me feel inadequate and stupid all while I did get progressively better yet they chose to disregard that.”

“It felt like I was never really given a fair chance by the viewers or some of the judges’ given their nonsensical scoring,” the fraudster continued. “It’s supposed to be a dance competition and not a popularity contest.”

Anna Delvey left the competition during Oscars Night, along with actress Tori Spelling.

The Fraudster Asserts She Wants To Move On With Her Life

Delvey’s dance partner Ezra Sosa publicly asked his TikTok followers to give her a second chance. He claims he found her crying in a bathroom over the mean comments she read about herself online.

While many DWTS viewers sympathize with this, most don’t believe she did anything to make herself more likable. Instead of improving her image, she seemingly doubled down and brought the worst behavior possible to the ballroom.

“I’m trying to start a new chapter moving past mistakes I made and regret when I was much younger,” Delvey added in the email to NBC. “Not sure when people will finally afford me that second chance and stop persecuting me so I have the opportunity to move on with my life.”

“I hadn’t been on social media in over seven years. I felt good after my first dance but was not prepared for the hatred directed at me online and just how mean-spirited people can be hiding behind their keyboards,” she concluded.

There won’t be a new episode of DWTS this Tuesday night due to the Vice Presidential debate. There will be two episodes the following week on October 7-8.

  1. No one bothers when a criminal is running for president, but everyone flies into panic when a criminal is on an amateur dance TV show. Strange?
