Michael E. Knight returned to General Hospital as Martin Grey, but fans noticed something different about his appearance. Some even speculated that he might have gotten work done. Keep reading for all the details and see the stunning pics of his new look.

Martin Grey Returns To Port Charles

Michael E. Knight joined General Hospital in 2019 as attorney Martin Grey. The character was later revealed to be half-siblings with Laura (Genie Francis.) Martin battled an off-screen ex-wife. Fans were hoping to see Susan Lucci as Erica Kane. Instead, the soap brought actress Kassie DePaiva on as her One Life To Life character, Blair Cramer, as the mysterious ex.

Martin Grey left Port Charles in February after finding his lady love, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring,) in the arms of her ex, Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner.) The exit was only supposed to be for a few months. The actor’s return was delayed by the change in writing staff. The legal eagle finally returned this month.

Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) hired the lawyer to represent Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) after she was accused of murder.

General Hospital Fans Stunned By Michael E. Knight’s New Face

Michael E. Knight gushed over working with Nancy Lee Grahn. He told Soap Opera Digest earlier this month that he was grateful for the opportunity to come back to the soap opera.

“When Frank (Valentini, GH executive producer) called me and told me about bringing me back and gave me the lowdown [about the show’s plans for Martin], I was a very happy guy.”

Fans were happy to see the actor back, too. But they couldn’t help but notice something was very different about Michael E. Knight. First of all, viewers noticed that he’d dropped Martin’s Southern drawl and sounded more like his All My Children character, Tad.

The actor was also clean-shaven. The look sparked speculation that he may have gotten a facelift or other cosmetic work during his hiatus from the show.

One fan wrote on the General Hospital Instagram page, “Not only did he lose his southern accent, he also suddenly looks twenty years younger, must be magic.”

Another viewer shared a comparison photo on Twitter of how Michael E. Knight looked as Martin a few months ago compared to this scenes this week.

Fans were divided over whether the actor had a facelift or if the lack of a beard drastically changed his appearance. Do you think Michael E. Knight had work done? Share your thoughts in the comments.

  1. Personally I like he dropped the southern drawl (didn’t sound natural anyway). As far as work done, nahhh just a shorter hair cut.

    1. Folks he had a deep plane facelift. If you followed him, you would have seen the photos he posted after the surgery with the bandages.

  2. Regardless of Mickeal E Knights appearance, his storyline has always been boring. Maybe being a lawyer and interacting w Alexis GH can improve. Lucy Coe is the worst actor on the show. Kelly Monoco is one of the best!
Kill Holly off instead and get on w Lucky!

  3. Lucy is a wonderful funny actor. I know someone in real life who acts just like her. Lucy adds so much comedy. Kelly M. Pauses when saying her lines. It’s as though she isn’t confident to recite her lines. She’s just another petty face. Not a serious actor. I’ve never liked her and am glad she’s been fired.

    1. Me too. Actors need to age naturally, or you end up with characters who look younger than their grandchildren. So silly… 🫤

  4. He looks great. I think it is just the clean shaven look that’s throwing everyone off. I also am thankful he ditched that drawl.
Not sure why the hits on all the actors on the show. Fault the crazy writing crews revolving door and Frank V.

  5. His hair is more grey and lack of beard gives him a different look. I don’t think he had work done, though. His eye area looks the same as before. I did get used to the beard so I miss it, but he is just as handsome now as he was when he played Tad.

  6. He just looks like he had his eye lids done. He hair looks whiter, he has a nice haircut and looks like he lost weight. I missed it, didn’t notice he dropped his southern accent.

  7. The disappearance of the cliched southern accent is just bizarre, really! Its a relief that its gone but makes no sense to suddenly change. And right when Lois is having her accent reduced? A little awkward , eh, people? Do the actors find their workload too much? Lois has got to let hers come back for day to day use–let her just do it for TV promotions in the storyline, pls! Its so much a part of who she is–she’s keeping up the crazy manicure, so keep the accent too!

  8. I actually think he looks older and heavier now. If he had a facelift as someone else suggested, he’d have a nice tight jawline, which he doesn’t. His face looks fuller and older, however smoother. Weight gain can definitely do this. The loss of the accent is completely weird and stupid. It was part of his sweet southern charm, and now he’s like a completely different character. Doesn’t make sense.
