How Did Ashley Williams Honor Her Mom In Hallmark’s Falling Together?

Ashley Williams’ latest movie Falling Together included Easter eggs honoring her mother Linda, who died in 2016. Her mother battled Alzheimer’s for a decade. Firstly, one of the characters in the movie who worked for the Alzheimer’s Association was called Linda Payne.

In the movie, Natalie (Williams), moves to Pittsburgh and has six weeks before she starts work. She decides to volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association Walk. At the volunteer office, she learns the meaning of each of the colors of flowers that represent family members, caregivers, and those who have Alzheimer’s.

Along the wall are those who died of the disease. On the wall was a photo of her mom. In addition, fellow Hallmark star Nikki Deloach’s father, David DeLoach. He died from Pick’s Disease, an aggressive form of dementia. Also, Andrew Walker’s mom is on the wall. His late mother Joyce Francis Crossley Walker died last year from Alzheimer’s.

Ashley told People that she texted her two friends for photos for the wall. She told them that she wanted to “include pictures of your family.” Fans of these stars instantly recognized the photos as all three Hallmark stars shared their family member’s pictures on Instagram. Most of all, Ashley felt this touch “made the scene all the more meaningful to me.”

In addition, Ashley and Andrew are starring in the upcoming Countdown To Christmas movie Jingle Bell Run together. Moreover, Ashley and Nikki are holding another fundraiser, Dance Party to End ALZ in Los Angeles on October 27. Kimberly Williams-Paisley founded this event, with Ashley and Nikki co-hosts. Andrew and his wife Cassandra Walker are part of the host committee. All proceeds go to Alzheimer’s Association Research programs.

Ashley Williams Thanks Hallmark Fans For Support

On Wednesday, Ashley Williams went to Instagram to thank Hallmark fans for watching Falling Together. She shared an old beach photo of her mom holding Ashley and her sister Kimberly Williams-Paisley in her arms. She wrote, “Here’s my mom, my big sister @kimberlywilliamspaisley and me. I feel today like I did in this picture–her arms around me. I wanna say a huge thank you to everyone for watching #fallingtogehter this weekend–I have read as many notes, tweets, messages, reviews about your experience watching this story that I can and the support from you is unreal! When faced with this brutal disease I have so often wanted to shrink and disappear but the outpouring of kindness surrounding this movie has reminded me that this disease cannot take the love from us. Our spirits are way too strong. Thanks for the reminder, and thanks for helping me feel her again.”
