Bindi Irwin has a very bubbly personality, and she always seems to have a smile on her face. Recently, though, she got real, as Steve Irwin’s daughter opened up about dealing with a devastating condition. So, what did she have to say?

Along with her younger brother, Robert Irwin, Bindi Irwin has grown up in the spotlight, thanks to the late Steve Irwin and his efforts in wildlife conservation. These days, Bindi is no longer the little girl who would follow her dad around on his crazy adventures.
Bindi Irwin now has a family of her own, including a young daughter named Grace Warrior Irwin. With everything that Bindi has had going on, between her family and her work in conservation, the young woman recently opened up about a devastating condition that impacts her life. So, what did she have to say about it?
Bindi Has A Condition She Struggles With, What Is It?
For those who may not know, Bindi Irwin has endometriosis. According to the World Health Organization: “Endometriosis is a disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. It can cause severe pain in the pelvis and make it harder to get pregnant. Endometriosis can start at a person’s first menstrual period and last until menopause.”
Some of the symptoms for this condition include painful periods, pain during or after intercourse, fatigue, infertility, and more. This is something that has the capacity to truly alter someone’s life, and Bindi Irwin recently got candid about living with this in her everyday life.
Bindi Irwin Opens Up About Living With This Condition
Speaking of how she has dealt with endometriosis while also dealing with the demands of everyday life, Bindi Irwin recently said: “I was in so much pain and fighting an invisible battle daily. I spent so much of my time trying to keep a happy exterior while I was struggling to stay afloat.”
In March of 2023, Bindi Irwin went public with the news that she decided to have surgery. At that time, she said: “Going in for surgery was scary but I knew I couldn’t live like I was. Every part of my life was getting torn apart because of the pain.”

Bindi told her followers that surgeons removed 37 lesions, as well as a chocolate cyst. So, she certainly made the right decision when it came to moving forward with the procedure.
Reflecting on her situation, specifically in the aftermath of the surgery, Bindi Irwin credited her mother, Terri Irwin, for being her rock through it all. Bindi said: “She was there every step of the way for me, right down to helping me to the bathroom when I could barely walk after surgery.”
