‘Teen Mom’ Tyler Baltierra Opens Up About Relationship With Dawn
Tyler Baltierra has addressed the relationship between himself, his wife, and their adoption counselor Dawn Baker. Tyler Baltierra Shows Love For Dawn Baker
Dawn M. Baker is the counselor who helped Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra put their oldest daughter, Carly, up for adoption. Every once in a while, Dawn will share an update about Catelynn and Tyler on social media.
Her latest update on X, formerly known as Twitter, was in October of 2023. She posted a video clip of their 14-year reunion visit. “Time flies,” she wrote. “Grief & Joy intermingled.”
Teen Mom fans often slam Dawn, accusing her of manipulating Tyler and Catelynn when they were young. One X user commented on one of Dawn’s posts, writing, “It’s really a shame that you manipulated them, as children, with no parents, to give their baby away. Knowing fully well that they didn’t want to and Theresa basically ripped that baby from Cate’s arms. These Christian adoption agencies are absolutely evil. Evil and money driven.”
However, Tyler Baltierra doesn’t feel that way at all. In a clip he shared about adoption Q&A, he talked about their relationship with Dawn since putting their daughter Carly up for adoption 15 years ago.
The clip begins with Tyler addressing a question. “So where’s Dawn in all of this?” He said that he sees a lot of hate online for Dawn and, in his opinion, it is unwarranted. Tyler Baltierra described her as a compassionate person who has worked hard for them and been an advocate throughout the entire experience.
Teen Mom Fans Weigh In On Catelynn & Tyler’s Adoption
“If it wasn’t for Dawn and her consistent compassionate loving bridge that she just tried to continue to build between us, we would have never got any visits after year four,” the Teen Mom star said.
“Dawn has been the pillar of support,” he said. “She fully understands the importance of having access and communication for Carly’s sake.” Apparently, the adoption counselor has played a crucial role in keeping the lines of communication open between the Teen Mom stars and their first daughter.
A fan page shared the clip and captioned the post, “Like many of you, I too wondered how #catelynnbaltierra and #tylerbaltierra felt about Dawn and her overall role in the adoption. I wondered why no resentment or anger was being displayed or why she wasn’t being blasted for her part so I am glad Tyler spoke on it. Now we know.”
Several people in the comments pointed out that they think Dawn knows she messed up the adoption process with Catelynn and Tyler. So, she is trying to make up for her mistakes now by doing what she can to help them maintain communication.
Others said that Catelynn and Tyler were a great example of how adoption could benefit young parents. However, they have done so much bashing of Carly’s adoptive parents that it makes open adoption scary for others.
