‘NCIS’ Showrunner Shares Season 22 Spoilers On Palmer & Knight Post-Breakup
NCIS Season 21 ended with a shocking cliffhanger. The finale showed Dr. Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) breaking up with Special Agent Jessica Knight (Katrina Law). Now that the Season 22 premiere is just weeks away, one of the series showrunners, Steven D. Binder, shared some spoilers about life after the break-up of these former love birds.
What did Binder reveal?
Jimmy Palmer Is Playing The Field
NCIS Season 22 is premiering soon and fans of the military procedural drama want to know what happens to Jimmy and Jessica. Thankfully, TV Insider caught up with one of the series two showrunners, Steven D. Binder. Binder was happy to spoil a few details about the former on-screen couple. What did he have to say?
Firstly, it is “months later” than the events of the Season 21 finale. Knight is on the West Coast as chief REACT training officer. She appears focused on her career. However, Dr. Jimmy Palmer is out dating. Binder hints, “He’s been busy as a single man; that will make an appearance in the most inopportune time.” But, have they moved on?
What happens next is something that Knight does what she is not supposed to in a hostage negotiation. “As a result, [she] and Jimmy are going to get a chance to have part two of the conversation that we didn’t see in the finale.”
But, will there be closure? Will the couple reunite? If it was up to Victoria (Elle Graper), they would be reunited. Binder shares what is happening to Palmer’s psyche. “That complicates but also crystallizes things. You’re forced to have thoughts because your child is sending you text every morning ‘breakup, Day 54; breakup Day 55.’ They are aware that they have broken up and have not moved on?
NCIS Showrunner Hints At Major Palmer & Knight Meeting
Although Jimmy Palmer and Jessica Knight have a conversation in the first episode of NCIS Season 22, Steven D. Binder dishes that they also have a conversation “in Episode 4 when World War III is starting.” Although WWIII is shocking, fans can rest assure that forensic scientist Kasie (Diona Reasonover) will save that day. But, Palmer and Knight have a conversation with “huge stakes.”
He revealed that “Jimmy and Knight are going to get a chance to have Part 3 of who and what they are and what they’re going to be and what they’re not going to be.” He sternly warns, “There’s huge stakes that can blow up and then very huge stakes for these two in a completely different way.”
What exactly does this mean? Fans are going to have to watch the upcoming season to decipher these statements and what is on the screen.
When Is NCIS Season 22 Premiere?
The premiere of NCIS Season 22 is on Monday, October 14, at 9 p.m., Eastern, on CBS. In addition, this new episode and all 21 Seasons are on Paramount+.
