Nikki Garcia & Artem Chigvintsev Continuing To Live Apart
After Artem Chigvintsev’s shocking domestic violence arrest last week, he and Nikki Garcia reportedly live separate lives.
In the days following the incident, Nikki hosted a live hot dog eating contest for Netflix. Noticeably, she left her wedding ring at home.
Now, sources close to the couple indicate that they’re living apart. There doesn’t seem to be any hope for reconciliation and divorce seems imminent.
Nikki Garcia Reportedly Moves Forward With Her Life
As TV Shows Ace previously noted, Nikki Garcia is reportedly looking for a divorce lawyer right now. While many details of the incident remain unknown to the public, domestic violence is a very serious matter.
After authorities released Artem from jail, he moved out of their Napa Valley home and in with a friend. Nikki remains at the Napa residence along with their son.
“They are not living under the same roof,” an insider allegedly told Us Weekly. “Friends believe they will end up splitting.”
This follows previous reports that the married couple always had a tense relationship. Many reportedly saw the couple engage in heated arguments, but it never turned physical before now.
“Nikki, [her sister] Brie and their family are too strong to let this slide and to let this kind of behavior be OK, especially around a child,” the source continued. According to the 911 call, their four-year-old son Matteo was at home during the situation.
The specifics of Artem’s actions are still currently unknown. The 911 call revealed Nikki was throwing shoes at him, however no one knows exactly what prompted the fight. It’s widely believed Artem felt hurt and angry that Dancing With The Stars opted not to renew his contract, but no further information is available.
That being said, domestic violence is always an unacceptable reaction.
The Couple Just Celebrated Their Wedding Anniversary
Many of Nikki Garcia’s fans likely remember her wedding special, Nikki Bella Says “I Do.” The special aired in early 2023 and documented her elaborate Parisian wedding to Artem Chigvintsev back in 2022. Just before the domestic violence incident, the pair just celebrated their second wedding anniversary.
Nikki shared a touching Instagram post to mark the occasion, quoting Elvis Presley lyrics along with photos from their special day. Artem also shared an Instagram post, though he captioned it with something much simpler.
“Happy anniversary my love, can’t see my life without you,” the Russian dancer shared. “You are my everything ❤️”
In the aftermath of the incident, Artem turned the comments off on the post.
