Why Isn’t ‘AGT’ On Tonight?

Why isn’t there a new episode of AGT on tonight, Tuesday, October 10th, 2024? It is the beginning of the long-anticipated Semifinals so, of course, viewers have been awaiting these episodes. So, what is taking its place and when will the hit reality show return? Keep reading for more details.

Why Isn’t AGT On Tonight?

Season 19 has been a smash hit for AGT and fans are loving the talent. Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel are also appreciating what they have seen. Now, it is time for the Semifinals and viewers are ready to see how this will all play out. Normally, the show airs on Tuesday evenings, and the results come in on Wednesdays. Unfortunately, tonight, Tuesday, September 10th, will be a little different as the show will not be airing. If you’ve been scouring the guide for America’s Got Talent and have come up empty, there is a legitimate reason.

This week, the show will not air as it usually does and that is due to the Presidential Debate between Donald Trump and VP Kamala Harris. That is airing on most networks and will preempt the Semifinals, but just for this week. The show will resume on Wednesday, September 11th and Thursday, September 12th. Twelve acts will compete and then they will be cut in half after the Semifinals and then, the finals will begin. Those take place on Tuesday, September 17th so it is just a one-week shift.

As for when the AGT winner will be crowned, viewers will have to wait one more week. That will occur on Tuesday, September 24th so that will be very exciting and worth the wait. NBC will soon have another competition show to take over AGT as The Voice returns on Monday, September 23rd. That will include coaches Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, Michael Buble, and Gwen Stefani. So, finale week will bring a lot of excitement and new beginnings.

Just A Reminder

On social media, fans were reminding one another that the Semifinals did not begin until Wednesday:

• AGAIN IT STARTS WEDNESDAY! MARK. YOUR. CALENDARSSS!!
• HEY! the start of semi-finals start NEXT WEDNESDAY! (bc of the presidential debate thing… aint no one watching that) and the semi results start THURSDAY!

Now, the show’s Instagram page does not have a reminder that the show has been postponed. Yet, when talking about the acts moving forward, it says to tune in on Wednesday rather than Tuesday. Hopefully, fans just remember that this is one night and it does not interfere with any of their Wednesday or Thursday evening programming.
