‘General Hospital’ Kin Shriner Addresses Scotty’s Absence

General Hospital fans are wondering where Scotty Baldwin is. Not long ago, Scotty left a scene to go grab coffee and donuts and hasn’t been seen since. Kin Shriner recently addressed the character’s whereabouts and when viewers can expect to see him back on screen. Continue reading to see what he revealed.

Scotty Baldwin Was Involved In Multiple Storylines

On the soap, Scotty Baldwin has been working with Agent Jagger Cates (portrayed by Adam J. Harrington). They have been putting their heads together to figure out a way to get Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) locked up.

Scotty was pushing the pharmacist to keep secrets about who switched Sonny’s medications. As viewers know, Sonny has bipolar disorder and needs meds to keep regulated. Fans have watched his mental health spiral for weeks on the soap opera.

However, the storyline seemed to have fallen flat. Scotty Baldwin went out for donuts and never came back. This isn’t the only storyline the attorney is involved in at this point either.

Kin Shriner’s character was also involved in another story arc with Heather (Alley Mills). He was working with her to free her from prison.

Now that he’s been missing for several episodes, viewers are wondering where Scotty is and when he’ll be back. Recent information from Kin Shriner sheds on light on what fans can expect.

General Hospital viewer took to X to question Scotty’s absence. “Wow, nothing like disrespecting your longest serving character…#GH,” the fan wrote. Kin retweeted the message and added, “I don’t understand any of it ,I went to get glazed donuts and coffee for the doctor !!”

It’s possible that Scotty may be done on General Hospital. Although Kin Shriner has made similar claims in the past, it could be true this time. There seems to be a replacement of sorts for Scotty Baldwin.

Did General Hospital Writers Get Rid Of Scotty?

Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) recently made his way back to Port Charles. It seems like he is taking on a lot of Scotty’s casework, including Heather’s case. Viewers might find this strange considering Scotty rarely gives up a chance to make money.

On top of that, Scotty was slated to be Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) attorney. He hasn’t even shown up for her yet and she’s been left to go head-to-head with Sonny on her own. Nina (Cynthia Watros) called Ric in for help, rather than Scotty.

It seems like Ric might be replacing Scotty, but if that’s the case, why didn’t the writers even try to smooth out the transition? They sent him off for coffee and donuts, never to return, and fans aren’t impressed.

This isn’t the first slip-up the writers have made in recent weeks if that is the case. There have been a lot of missing pieces that General Hospital fans have been questioning recently. If they decided to write Scotty off after almost 50 years on the soap, there is sure to be backlash.

Will Scotty Baldwin return this week? General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.

  1. I think that’s unclassy u just dump Scott
After all the years he was on the show he
Was funny, witty, and sweet and a teddy
    Bear please bring him back!!!

    1. It seems Scotty is gone forever. Here it is almost November and hes still not back from eating all those donuts. They have gotten rid of alot of the old and new actors on this show. Marshall just left and said his good byes———Trina is hardly seen or Gio either——–Little Ace isn’t even the same baby—Spencer was lucky he left when he did to get a excellent part in the movie Monsters——He won’t be back. I saw him and he doesn’t even LOOK like Spencer anymore. Who ever is writing the story line now has ruined General Hospital in my opinion. Its not the same. Its all about this FBI junk. Where is Lucy? Shes gone too. Sam is about to leave. Dante is going to propose to her on her death bed. Seems like he will go back to LuLu who he always loved.—–I say BRING BACK the OLD General we all loved. I find myself either NOT watching it anymore OR shutting it off in the middle out of BOREDOM “Thanks for the memories”

  2. agree, along with all of the other bizarre and unconnected, out of place storyline, e.g. Sonny and Carly (good lord), Willow and Drew (ugh), Sasha (a cook!), and Sam (fired!!?).

None of it makes sense. I hung in for all of it. I have been an avid watcher for 45 years these changes may finally be the tipping point where I find a new program.

    Sad days on General Hospital….

  3. I’m still wondering how they completely dropped the murder investigation of Austin Gatlin-Holt? Why didn’t they explore Scotty and Leisel more? Why get rid of Finn and Sam? Why? just so they could afford Lucky? And they really need to find a different excuse for Laura’s annual 6 week vacation, other than “leaving the country to FIND someone”. That is getting really old. He!! just have her and Kevin take a cruise or something!

Bring Finn back!!! And Anna needs to be fired! It’s ok to let Valentin get away, but she looks down her nose at Sonny and Jason, and is INTENT on putting THEM away, after what Jason did to help her?

    1. Agreed. None of it makes sense. The self righteous hypocrites are truly running the town. The writing is just garbage at this point.

  4. Let’s also add the hint of a storyline of Jagger Cates’ autistic son. He and Olivia had a whole conversation about it, when he first arrived….then nothing. I couldn’t stand Jagger, but these dead end storylines make no sense. I started watching again when Steve Burton came back…hoping for a JaSam reunion but that’s obviously not happening. And they are killing off Sam, after turning her character into into someone unlikable. Smh…I don’t know what the new writers are doing, but if alienating fans is the goal, then good job😑
