Latest On Artem Chigvintsev’s Arrest
The Dancing With The Stars community was shocked when news broke on August 29 that Artem Chigvintsev had been arrested. He was charged with corporal injury to a spouse. While it hasn’t been confirmed, many believe his alleged victim was his wife, Nikki Garcia, whom he met while competing on Season 25 of DWTS.
It was later revealed that Artem was the one who called 911, though it is still not clear why. He requested an ambulance, but later called back to cancel it. The police still went to the residence to follow up on the call. While there, they allegedly saw injuries that led to the professional dancer’s arrest.
He was charged with felony domestic violence, but the D.A. is still considering the case. Nikki Garcia addressed the situation by asking for privacy for her and their son, Matteo, who was present during whatever happened.
Kaitlyn Bristowe Breaks Silence On DWTS Partner’s Arrest
Kaitlyn Bristowe finally realized her dream of competing on Dancing With The Stars in 2020. She previously said that a Bachelor exec vetoed her joining the ABC dance competition. The Season 11 Bachelorette star went on to win the Mirror Ball trophy, thanks to Artem Chigvintsev’s coaching.
According to soaps.com, Kaitlyn admitted on a podcast in 2022 that her partner was “angry” all the time. “I think he was going through stuff in his own personal life,” she said.
People have been curious about what Kaitlyn thinks of Artem’s arrest. She finally addressed it during an Instagram Q&A earlier this week.
“My thought on this is that I am not going to say anything until they are ready to say something. They have asked for privacy and when people ask for privacy, I find media outlets and everybody has an opinion.”
The DWTS champ added, “My only thought is that domestic violence is so unacceptable and so scary and so sad. And I hope everybody’s okay. My heart goes out to little Matteo.”
“I’m just praying for all of them to either get better or to find peace and space and help and I just find this really tough to talk about ‘cuz it makes me very sad,” she continued.
