Jenn Tran’s Mom Was Skeptical Of Devin Strader Before Proposal
Sometimes moms really do know best. Jenn Tran brought her final two Bachelorette suitors, Devin Strader and Marcus Shoberg, home to meet her family. But her mom was skeptical of both of them.
Jenn Tran Has Zero Relationship With Father
Jenn Tran opened up to Joey Graziadei when she was a contestant on The Bachelor about her feelings of abandonment. Her parents immigrated to the U.S. from Vietnam before she was born. She said how proud she was that they built a life from nothing.
However, the future Bachelorette revealed to Joey that her parents had divorced. Since her father moved out of the family home, Jenn said their relationship “deteriorated to basically like nothing.”
So when it came time for Jenn Tran to introduce her possible husband to her family, her father wasn’t included. However, Marcus and Devin got to meet Jenn’s mom Trinh, aunt Lylan, brother James, and best friend Nicole.
Jenn Tran’s Mom Was Skeptical Of Devin Strader Before Proposal
Marcus Shoberg admitted to Jenn’s family that he wasn’t ready to propose. He wasn’t even in love with Jenn yet, though he had faith that he could “get there.” Jenn ultimately sent him home after realizing he didn’t have the same feelings for her that she had for him.
Devin Strader also spent time with Jenn’s family. He readily confessed his feelings for Jenn, but her mom was still skeptical. According to Meaww, she told Jenn that the young couple needs more time before getting engaged.
Unfortunately, Jenn Tran did not heed her mother’s warning. She proposed to Devin and then he proposed to her. They happily left engaged, but things went bad quickly. She revealed on the After The Final Rose special that Devin had dumped her during a phone call last month.
Brother Shut Down Devin’s Request For Blessing
Devin Strader ending the engagement came as a huge shock to Jenn and viewers. He had asked Jenn’s brother James for his blessing to propose to Jenn. He didn’t get it. It seems their mom wasn’t the only skeptic in the family.
Jenn’s family was in the audience during the emotional ATFR. Her brother later took to social media to show support for his sister.
If Jenn Tran had listened to her mom, she may not have gotten her heart broken. But happier times are in the future. She will compete on Season 33 of Dancing With The Stars.
